NoJoMo 16: Closer

This is the first time since doing this NoJoMo thing that I opened up the Write an Entry window and stared at it for 5 minutes having no idea how to even start.  I apparently have run out of things to say.  

Sara had gone to bed and came out again because she couldn’t stop thinking about cannibals.  Apparently her friend had told her about cannibals and how they eat babies and that they live in Norway.  Mommy assured her that there were indeed cannibals in the world but that they live far off in the jungle, as far away from Norway as you can get.  Wonder what her friend was doing talking about cannibals.

My O key is sticking.  Most likely crumbs or stickiness from the kids.

I watched the first half of the Philly – Washington game from last night but I don’t really need to see any further.  45 – 14 at halftime?  Jeez…

Bacon, eggs and potatoes for dinner.  Mmmmm…bacon.   Sara loves bacon but Emma won’t eat it.

Continue the nineties.  At some point, I think after I had lived in Los Angeles and moved back to Iowa, I started hanging out with my brothers more often.  They were both into the Grateful Dead, which was like the antithesis to everything I had been about musically since my punk days.  But they introduced me at this point to Dave Matthews Band, which at the time was just an underground jam band kind of thing.  I liked it, and still do, particularly the live stuff.  

I love how that song builds into hugeness.

The other band that sort of dominated the 90’s was Radiohead.  Karma Police from their finest album OK Computer.

 The biggest keyboard-ish/Industrial band then was Nine Inch Nails.  This is still one of my favorite songs by them.  By the way, this video is NSFW, dirty words and some flashes of boobies.

Dave Matthews Band and Nine Inch Nails in the same entry.  My younger self would be appalled!  Now, heh, I like what I like.  Both are good.
