NoJoMo 8: Bang Your Head II: Electric Boogaloo
Tired today. I always sleep less well on Sundays, which I think is almost a cliche. And part of the problem last night was the fact that I had coffee past six. Seriously, people, I drink boatloads of coffee. But if I have any past six, plus the usual evening cola (at least that is Coke Zero now instead of sugar) and I have trouble sleeping.
Vanilla ice cream with cinnamon on it just rules.
We currently have snow on the ground. It snowed Saturday night and hasn’t really gotten warm enough to melt yet. We aren’t really used to this so early in the year. Yes, I live in Norway. But here on the west coast we get the gulf stream (yes, that Gulf Stream, from the Gulf of Mexico. It goes all the way up here and kisses the coast of Norway, keeping us mild). Last winter was tons of snow and really cold and this winter is starting off pretty cold already. And it doesn’t help any that the official sunset is around 4.30 and the sunrise is 8.20. It’s going to get worse, but at least the winter is shorter than the summer here, at least light-wise.
I’m too tired to come up with much more today. Anything you all want me to discuss here? I have a couple things in mind for some longer stuff, but if anyone wants me to expound on something or you have some burning question, fire away.
VIdeos!
And I promised Bang Your Head II so here it is.
I think it was 7th grade maybe. I actually had a Def Leppard logo pin that I wore every day. I really, really liked them apparently. But I also liked Celebration by Kool & The Gang so my taste was pretty suspect. Anyway, I still kind of like this song, for nostalgic reasons mostly.
Heh, the drummer still has two arms!
I think this next one was the last real metal thing I liked before someone slapped me upside the head with a copy of a Dead Kennedys album. And again, nostalgically kind of tapping my foot to this one. Plus, Milton Berle in the video! Milton Berle!
On second thought, not really a good song. Milton Berle!
Ok, bad stuff so far. This song, however, is awesome. I will forever like this song because it is a damn fine song, from a band who really doesn’t fit in with the crap above. This "metal" song is so cool that it always makes the list when KROQ, Los Angeles’ alternative station, does a flashback countdown. I give you: AC/DC with Back in Black.
Tomorrow, a big dose of punk.
Zaphod
