Bit deflated

I had an application in for a role that I really thought I was perfectly suited to.  Had met the recruiment guy early in the process and had a good interview with him.

Turns out I was one of the candidates he had recommended, however the Chairman of the Board selected three from his list for the CEO to interview and I was apparantly number 4. Well I must say that was very disappointing news for me. He advises that if the CEO doesn’t like any of the top 3 then he’ll let me know. Well I shant be holding my breathe for that call and in any event I am no longer sure it would be right for me to consider a role that the Chairman of the board only considers me to be 4th best qualified for. Would be a great start really wouldn’t it (not!). Would have an ongoing battle to convince him that I was right for the job.

So with it rapidly approaching Xmas, the job market will go very quiet until the new year – meaning it will be most likely Feb to March next year before anything would likely emerge for me to consider.  Bugger – would have loved to have gone into Xmas with a new job and therefore be in a position to enjoy that wonderful time of year with the confidence of regular income coming in.

So now what – really need to consider other options.  Have talked about the B&B business that we want to move into once Kel has finished here spa course end of next year. Well maybe we should consider this earlier and that I could run it for the first year while Kel is completing her studies. I am not sure that this will be enough to keep me motivated alone, so may have to consider other side line opportunities as well. Perhaps start doing small business accounts, not sure.

So will start researching B&B businesses and find out all we need to know about them, beforing jumping in huh.
