Where to from here?

Never been much of a diary keeper, however I now find myself at a time of my life where I guess I am at a point of Transition.

I have been out of work for around 5 months, having lost my position due to the recession here in NZ. I bear now malice toward my old company. They really had little choice but to cut costs further and I was a significant cost. They looked after me well with a generous settlement package.

My last day at work was back in late June and my immediate thought were of my upcoming wedding in mid July.  So really didn’t start looking for a new position until late July.  The recruitment people have been very honest with me, indicating it could take 3 to 6 months for me to find the right role. The market where I live is very small and there will not be many opportunities, particularly as the recession is still biting hard here.

So since then I have looked a few opportunities but only a couple have been right for me. I don’t really want to leave the country where I live, but have already had to look outside.

There is one role I am currently looking at, which I would really love to get. While it is outside of Christchurch, it is in a place that would offer a great lifestyle and would not be too far away.

Anyway, I have things to do today.  Stain some posts before some trellis fencing is put up, continue fixing the back shed, take my bike to get serviced some my oldest daughter can use it to get to work and got to visit a rental property as the tenants have left and my agent tells me the place is a real mess – oh no, thats all I darn well need!!
