I feel much, much better this morning.  I woke up in minimal pain, which is a definite improvement over the last two weeks.  I’m glad the amoxicillin is finally kicking in.

The kids are eating their breakfast and I’m mentally trying to make a plan for what I’d like to do today.  Honestly, I don’t expect I’ll accomplish much, because I’m already feeling twinges of nausea here and there, but I’d like to have a plan just in case I do feel well enough to get up to something.

I need to talk to Aaron about sitting down and beginning the process of drawing up some plans for our future home.  We’re looking at adding another body to this house come May/June, and as that little one grows up, we’re going to be seriously cramped.  As it is, we’ll be needing to rent a storage unit sometime after the new year to store a lot of our stuff and make the house a lot less cluttered.  So, I figure sometime after the baby’s born we’re really going to start getting serious about looking for land to build on.  I’d like to get started on the planning process soon so we can have an idea about what kind of land will fit our plans and what won’t.  Plus it will take awhile to come to an agreement on what we want, draw up the plans, have them sent to an architect to be turned into blueprints, etc.

I’m excited at the prospect of building a house, even though it’s likely to take forever and be tons of hard work.  It probably would be easier to buy a place, but we really don’t want to go into debt to get a place or end up stuck with a mortgage for 20 or 30 years.  We’d rather pay cash and build as we go.  It will be more difficult to wait, I guess, but the benefits will outweigh that in the long run.  Plus, doing the labor ourselves, we’ll save over $100,000 versus paying for a contractor.
