my amazing girl
Chloe said her ABCs today. Beginning to end with no help and no mistakes. I cried. That girl is growing by leaps and bounds right before my very eyes, and I feel so priveledged to be the one to witness as she becomes this little person who is intelligent and bright and beautiful and everything I could have ever thought to hope for in a daughter.
I can’t help but imagine the kind of young woman she will be at sixteen, at twenty, at twenty-five. She has the power in her to conquer the world; I can see it in her eyes, feel it rolling off of her like a laugh. She is pure energy, and she is going to do amazing, great, wonderful things in this world, I have no doubt.
There’s no higher honor in this universe for me than to be the guiding hand that helps her along her way.
How in the world could I have ever thought I didn’t want children?
