NoJoMo: an early start
Wow. I can’t believe it’s NoJoMo already! Can’t believe it’s November already. This year has just flown by, and before we know it, it will be Christmas, then New Year’s, then it’ll be May and I’ll be having this baby!
It’s way early, but I went to bed before nine, so I’m fairly awake. Good thing, too, because I’ve got a photo session to wrap up before I head in to work later. Then, after work, I’ve got three, long, blessed days off. And on Thursday, Aaron and I are going out to dinner for the first time in what feels like years. Actually, it probably has been close to a year and a half, because the last time we went out was before we separated. We were going to go to a movie, too, but there’s nothing playing that I want to see. It’ll be nice just to get out without the kids, though. And the kids will be staying with his mom and dad. They don’t get to see his parents as much as they do mine, so it’s good they’ll be able to spend the day out there.
And now it’s after one…lol. I got sidetracked by tickling kids and never got around to finishing my entry this morning. Ben’s the cutest thing…I’ll run my finger on the back of his neck and he’ll duck his head and giggle. "It kickles, mommy, it kickles!"
Anyway, I just hung up on the 16th (!!!!) campaign call to my house this morning. 12 of them were from the same number. I get campaigning, and normally I don’t mind so long as I can stay away from the hyperbolic campaign ads on TV. But when my phone’s ringing off the hook, sometimes as late as 10pm, I get a little grouchy.
I did get my photo session wrapped up, but now I’m having connectivity issues on my laptop (as in – my WiFi sensor is lazy and only wants to work part time) so I have to wait a while to upload those. Then, tonight, I get to start on the next session I have in line. Good times. I’m really excited to work on that session, though, because it was at the national park I’d never been too, which was GORGEOUS.
Back to the election…I think I’m the only person in my family who is voting tomorrow. Aaron can’t, because he’s still registered in Cabell County and he won’t have time to make it to his polling place. My parents and grandma have never voted, for anything. (Well, I think my dad voted in the last presidential election.) But boy, do my mom and grandma love to complain about things going on in the government. Honestly, I think they don’t vote because they’re insecure about the fact that they aren’t really up to date about current events or educated about politics. I try to help, by turning on CNN when I’m over there so I can watch (I don’t have cable news – I get most of my national news from NPR and HuffPo), but I think they’re a bit too set in their ways to care now.
Ah well. Time for me to get ready for work, anyway. See you tomorrow for NJM #2!
