in the thick of it
I’m writing this in the few seconds of time during each photo edit while my noise reducing action runs. I’ve got about four hours of free time this evening to edit, and I’m taking full advantage! Both kids played hard today and went to bed early, thank goodness.
Besides being excited to get these photos finished so I can deliver them to Sam, I’m also excited to get them finished so I can work on my website. My template access was delivered to me today, and I can’t wait to get started on it! But, I’m betting it’s going to be at least a week before I can, because I have to finish up the wedding, start on and finish my brother’s portrait sessions, and then I’ll be photographing Anne’s home birth sometime in the next two weeks. Busy, busy, busy! But, it’s going to be so worth it in the end when I have so many more images to add to my portfolio.
My mom is being really supportive of me deciding to photograph professionally, which was a real surprise. She’s normally a very Negative Nancy about everything and very quick to point out the downside to every situation, or to be the bringer of bad news. It’s nice to have her on board the train for once. She’s all the time trying to give me "advice" though, and I’m like, "Mom, I know what I’m doing. Butt out." Stupid stuff like suggesting really cheesy poses and junk. And then recommending that I get together with her friend Kelly, who ran a photo studio ten years ago. I appreciate that she means well, and I’d be perfectly happy for business advice, but I’d rather make the creative decisions myself, thanks.
Wow, I had planned on sitting in front of this computer and working on photos until about two in the morning, but I don’t think I’m quite going to manage that. I’ve already been at it for an hour, and I can feel the eye strain starting. Doesn’t help that I’ve been editing in the dark. 😛 In either case, I’m going to get up and stretch my legs a bit and rest my eyes before I get back at it.
