So, it’s about 7:30 and both my kids are asleep. Don’t know how I got that lucky. Ben fell asleep in my arms, and Chloe conked out on the couch while I was putting him in bed. Awesome! Now I can catch up on some work, and do a little bit of cleaning without feeling like I want to pull my hair out.
Anyway, today has been a strange mix of productive and stressful. I weeded and edited a portrait session in less than two hours this morning, which is record for me. But then the kids were outrageously disobedient for awhile. Chloe is such an instigator, always starting things she knows will get her and Ben into trouble. Or she does things to deliberately get me angry, I think because she wants the attention, but giving her more one on one time hasn’t seemed to be helping much. I’ve thought that maybe our days are just a little bit too chaotic and that if she knew what was coming and expected of her day after day it might help. So I’m going to work on that this week, trying to get her into more of a routine everyday. Goddess knows I could benefit from one myself.
For me, I’m trying to get back on the FlyLady routine. With Aaron working and going to school and me working and having five thousand things on my plate, my house is a wreck. Like, a serious, crackhouse on COPS kind of wreck. I can’t stand it, but I can only do so much everyday, and I’m hoping getting back on that routine can help me tame the chaos. Ideally, I’d like to have things under control by the first of December so I can decorate and enjoy the holidays with as little stress as possible. We’ll see how it goes.
Anyway, since I promised, here are a few shots from a couple of my recent sessions:
One of my best friends since the second grade, and her husband, at Lake Vesuvius. It was a beautiful location and I can’t wait to take more clients out there.
And this is a little boy I shot in a local park. He was a cutie.
There must be something in the air, Xander was begging me to put him in bed at 7:30. Knock on wood of course.
