NoJoMo: our daily routine
I’m going to try really hard not to get sucked into a long entry…I’m taking a break from cleaning, though, so I thought I’d get my NJM entry out of the way.
Most days, especially on my days off, we don’t have much of a routine, although I’m working on trying to get a little more structure into our day, for me as much as the kids.
Ben and I normally get up between 6 and 7. I change him, then we’ll cuddle on the couch for half an hour or so, watching cartoons or the news until Chloe wakes up. After she’s up, I let the kids have the couch and I pop over to the computer to check Facebook, OD and my e-mail. Then I’ll normally surf around Huffington Post for awhile. Then, breakfast time.
After breakfast, it’s basically free time. The kids do whatever they want, and if I’m feeling okay, I work on some cleaning. If I’m not, I just relax on the couch or waste time on the computer. Typically we have a good 3-5 timeouts in there too.
Lunch is at noon. After lunch, Ben will sometimes take a nap on the couch. Sometimes not. If he does, and Chloe’s in a cooperative mood, we’ll work on her reading and phonics. If she isn’t, she normally just plays (somewhat) quietly with her Play-Doh.
After lunch and naptime, it’s pretty much free time again until dinner. When it’s warm, I’ll send the kids outside to play for awhile. Then, dinner between 5 and 6, baths at six thirty, and bedtime starts at seven.
Then, Mommy pretty much relaxes for the rest of the night. Although, I’ve been hitting the hay between nine and ten lately. I’m an old lady in disguise. 🙂
Today I am grateful for:
– Getting some housework done. It is by no means near finished, but it’s still progress.
– Getting a shower first thing this morning.
– Getting to spend the morning with my girl tomorrow. I’m taking Chloe out for breakfast and a girls’ day. 🙂
