Holly Rocks!!! (Play Ball)

I’ve almost NEVER gotten out of a game by 9:35pm! But this seems to be common place for Holly. A few summers ago, we used to always say “there’s something about Holly” NOw I know what the something is: she makes the games end fast 🙂 And so far my prediction about the phillies waiting for me to come home so they could win has come true 😉 As you can tell it was a good first night back.

The weather was really COLD. I’ve never worked a game that was so cold before. But Bernie put me on 100 (no surprsie there) on the mets side. Great tips. And it was great to see everyone again. Eddie was working next to me (that must be why you haven’t met him yet Hol, he must be on 100 this whole homestand). I only had one set of orders in my box so my coincided with early break and I got to see Holly. It was strange but fun.

The game moved pretty quickly after break. It was a pitcher’s duel all the way thorugh to the botttom of the 8th when Jimmy Rollins hit a double and Scott Rolen got a huge base hit and brought home Rollins. Then just for kicks Pat Burrell hit a 3 run homer before the mets could retire the side. Mesa came in to close out the game. That’s when i knew I was really home. Watchign him warm up wiht “Summer of ’69” blaring through the stadium, knowing the game was safe in Mesa’s capable pitching arm. The boys of summer are back!

Today it’s finally getting warm again and soon it’ll be tiem to do it all over again. With me and Holly there, we should be able to put out a FAST WIN! 🙂 Here’s hoping….

hehe… you’re warm and coozy inside again…

You know, I had a guy want me to give up Rolen on my fantasy team for a backup pitcher. I refused, of course — he wanted me to take his third baseman too. I’m stil bitter about Robin Ventura for charging Nolan Ryan, so I turned that down. What does this all mean? I’m glad Rolen’s doing well, and I’m glad you are too. –B
