Weekend Wrap Up (Saturday)
Yesterday I also woke up at 10am. This time to co-host my dad’s radio show with him and Vashti. Vash came by around 10:30 and we left for the studio around 11:30. It was a lot of fun! Vash and I cut a commericial for his new ambulance company. We helped write the copy and then did the voice overs. I really love doing voice overs. It’s so much fun. I realy need to make a demo tape and see about putitng myself out there (NYC is prime territotry for voice over tlaent) but a porfessional demo costs between $800 and $1,000 and i just do’nt have that kindof money right now 🙁
The show went really well. Dad interviewed us and asked questions about what it’s like to be in “our generation” (how shoudl i know, I can’t speak for everyone in my generation!) It wasa lot of fun and I surprsied him b/c he asked us who our role models were and after naming some famous ppl I admire I said my parents and explained why I consider eacho f myparents role models. It was really funny too cause on the air we don’t come out and say that I’m his daughter, I”m just some random person who sometimes co-hosts the show with him. So he looked all happy when I siad it and I”m like “what is it Lee? You’ve got kids too and wish they’d say something this nice about you?” It was hilarious!
After the show Vash and I hung out at home for a little bit and grabbed a late lunch and hten we went out shopping cause I REALLY needed a pair of blakck pants b/c I was going clubbing at 10 that night. It’s SO hard to find stuff in my size 🙁 I’m a 16/18 (bah! working on it tho) which actually in our society today is medium. It’s not really considered plus size but obviously not regular size either. And there’s almost NOTHING stylish in those sizes. But today wasn’t as dperessing as usual shopping wise. We went to the thrift store first. As usual they had nice Jeans in sizes 13 on down and 22 on up *sigh* But I found two cool skirts for school, one long and black, the other short and greyish-black. The short one even worked pretty well with the top I was planning on wearing so I was good to go. And the two skirts together came to $8!!! After that I decided to go to the nearby Fashion Bug because they do have a pretty decent plus size department. But right next to it I found this store called DOTS and they had some pretty cool stuff in the window so I checked there first. What an awosme store!!! They’ve got realy nice stylish stuff (read: not dumpy and meant to conceal) in my size at great prices. I found the black pants I was looking for and they were only $10. So I got 3 basic peices today that will mix well with a lot of the stuff I already have for only $18. Score!
I checked in Fashion Bug afterwards just to see what was there (nothing good, thank god for DOTS!) and they me and Vash went home and hung out til I was ready to leave. Right before i left I got into a huge fight with my brother over something really stupid and i felt really bad afterwards. Mom and dad got home from their dinner with Linda and Harry as we were waiting for the bus. Linda nad Harry live up in Center City anyway so they give us a ride, droping Vash off at Malcolm’s and me at Poly Esther’s.
