The Envelope

Pattern catcher that I am, I couldn’t help but notice a particular trend in entertainment. I follow a number of televised serials, no less than three of which have (two on the very same day), suggested or explicitly displayed incestuous behavior. Jimmy Darmady (Boardwalk Empire) fucks his own mother, Deb (Dexter) fantasizes about making out with her brother, and the heir to the iron throne (Game of Thrones), we learn, was actually conceived by the queen’s brother, not her husband.

The fuck is going on here?

I’ll tell you. Homosexuality is no longer taboo. It’s not even allowed to be presented as such. The last decade saw such a change in the fundamental social viewing of homosexuality, that it’s forced entertainment creators to delve deeper into sexual depravity to give us that sick, uneasy feeling we’re so addicted to. That taboo voodoo. And before you start calling me a homo-phobe let me be clear– I could not care less about any 0-10% demographic of the populous that I’m not personally a part of, and not caring includes a complete lack of animosity in any form. In general, I’d rather focus on things that affect all of us.

So what’s next?

Actual incestuous relationships will start to surface– a few brave ones already have, according to reluctant research. Eventually, they will be accepted on the same terms that we now accept homosexuality. Eventually people will have bumper stickers and attend marches. They will wear their relationships with pride, and beat a "stop hurting our feelings" drum until the next generation of youths to come up around it is no longer bothered– or at least no longer willing to admit they are.

And after that?

Twilight Zone fan – yes, but only lightly. Not sure who the Rod fellow is – so no. 🙂 As for this entry…I hope you’re wrong. I don’t think homosexuality falls in the same category as incest. Mainly because what homosexuals are doing isn’t hurting anyone. Incest has the potential to hurt others. They can produce severely mentally handicap children.

God forbid, but if it became widely accepted then there could be an epidemic of severely mentally handicap children – which could even result in a pandemic – which could result in the human race failing. That’s a very broad, wide accusation, but could be possible none the less. Incest has never “prospered” in any civilization (that I know of anyway).

Homosexuality has “prospered” in other civilization throughout time though. Rome conquered the world, and homosexuality was a norm within their civilization. Anyway I’m rambling… I just don’t see homosexuality, and incest on the same playing field. Nor do I see it becoming a norm – ever – in any civilization.

I don’t watch those shows but that is sick and doesn’t pique my sick uneasy feelings it’s offensive I find very little offensive hehe. I watch american horror story I like good ol’ fashioned murder. And yeah am so sick of everyone having a cause wtf pedophiles, criminals, obese, and now incest ugh. I am a social work major and I am more like minded with the criminal justice major students 😉

Jesus, this is extremely disturbing. I’ve never thought about it but that really could happen and people of this generation will be like all the old twats nowadays who are hated for not supporting gays!

I have now learned that Rod is the “voice” to the Twilight Series. I have been enlightened. 🙂

Alright now even more enlightened! Thank you! Really! 🙂 I do know Richard, and “I Am Legend”. But sadly I’ve only seen the movie, not read the book. I have a difficult time reading a book if I’ve seen the movie, so I doubt I’ll ever be “able” to read the book.

Ha! I should read the book then I guess. I’ve always been intrigued by vampires – way before Twilight came around anyway.

Sorry if you enjoyed the evil outcast feeling. I believe the majority of people have had affairs. Honestly I’m totally thinking monogamy is insanity. 🙂 For some reason “immoral” sex is always the best. I would imagine because so much work is done in making sure you’re not caught.
