Love Me Forever
A southwestern breeze. A song. A swaying image like a dusky landscape behind a rain soaked window pane, reflected in a foggy buffed-metal mirror, recalled through a memory of recalling a memory. The music strains and echoes…as if bouncing off the smooth cliffs of a vast northern mountain lake, recorded, and played back in the corner of a large and empty loft apartment somewhere in a city, in a dream from long ago..
…Oh when the twilight is gone…and no songbirds are singing….
…oh when the twilight is gone….you come in…to my heart…
…and here…in my heart…you will stay…
…while…..I…..pray…..
A scent of autumn. A chair, leaned back. Shoes carelessly propped up on a table. The upwards sight of a thick branch; leaves wet, dark, and heavy with moisture. Blackness beyond with a vague suggestion of moonlight. A sound of air flowing. A feel of music cascading. A round white rock in a puddle below.
…..My prayer…..is to linger with you…..
…in a dream that’s divine…in a rapture of blue….
…with the word far away….and your lips close to mine…
