Trying not to forget

I really should write some of this stuff down. Things I don’t want to forget. My memory is so bad lately that it’s scary. I’m beginning to wonder if I’m not suffering lasting effects from having meningitis a few years ago. Things just slip away. I’m too young for that. (In fact, I just looked at the meningitis website, and under after affects the first thing listed is: Memory loss / difficulty retaining information / lack of concentration.

Anyway. Friday night I went to a club for the first time ever in my 26 years. (Well, with the exception of "teen night" at a club when I was 16, but that doesn’t count). Laura, Denise, Jo and I all went to the local fetish club. I had a FANTASTIC time. I danced my ass off, wore a gorgeous corset (in fact, within 5 minutes of getting there, I had a lady randomly come over to me to thank me for my cleavage, woo hoo!), wore a skirt a million times shorter than anything I’d normally wear, got hooked to a cross and flogged (albeit very gently – I actually could’ve taken quite a bit more, lol), REALLY hit subspace and went flying…soo much fun. I didn’t get home until 4am Saturday morning. I desperately want Wes to go with me, but the baby has to sleep first, so that’s still at least several months off, if not a year or more. 🙁

After that, Saturday was kind of a walking nightmare. Despite getting home at 4am, the alarm went off at 8 to get ready for the kids’ soccer games. Wes DID let me stay home at first, but I had a hard time getting back to sleep, and finally had to get up around 9 anyway so I could hand-wash Jaime’s uniform and have time to throw it in the dryer. Xander missed his team picture because someone gave Wes the wrong information, Jaime threw a fit during his picture time and missed his picture AND game. We went grocery shopping (during which I had an impossible time staying awake), got some 5 hour energy, came home and cleaned the house. The 5 hour energy worked really well – I was good and awake, but not crazy hyper and jittery and such. EXCEPT it still kept me from going to sleep that night, so it took a few days to really feel like I caught up on my sleep.

After hearing about my awesome time flying Friday night, Wes fashioned a flogger out of a piece of rope (quite ingenious, really), and tied me to the stair banister and flogged me again Saturday night. AMAZING. That is one drug I could seriously become addicted to. 😀

Sunday I decided to skip church because we just had WAY too much to do, and instead I watched a video on LDS.org with ASL interpretation and used that for my silent event for the day. Went to Jeremy and JJ’s birthday party at Chuck E Cheese, then to Laura’s house while Wes and Chris went out to Buffalo Wild Wings for Barcraft.

Tuesday I took the first half of my ASL exam – storytelling. Assuming I knocked it out of the park (which I feel like I did, plus I did the second story for a possible 20pts extra credit), AND that I ace tomorrow’s part, I might just barely squeak out of there with a B. The thought of getting a C is really depressing, because I know it doesn’t reflect my knowledge of the language at all. Instead it reflects what I mentioned about – my lack of memory and concentration, and the fact that I have 40pts worth of zeros from missing deadlines for online discussions – many of those when I would log on only minutes after the deadline had passed.

I’m happy for the end of the semester. I love my class, but I’m SOOO tired of having something to do EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT. Tuesday is class, Wednesday is soccer practice, Thursday is class, Friday is silent dinner…it feels like I never get a break, and we’re eating out WAY too much because I’m just not prepared enough to prepare for dinner when I’m going to be out of the house every night. So I’m really ready for the break.

Today we went to the strawberry patch and picked 10+lbs of strawberries. YUMMY. Came home and I dipped a few in dark chocolate that I melted. OMG. I have to get more chocolate tomorrow because they were amazing. I also need to do jam. And a strawberry pie. *drools*

But for now, I’m going to do some knitting until the little one wakes up again.
