It is a rainy weekend here. There was supposed to be a huge neighbourhood garage sale in one of the communities here. I drove around there earlier and didn’t see much going on though. I went to a Church garage sale yesterday. In the ad it was declared as a huge garage sale, not so much. I bought a cute striped lamb sock puppet for my niece, This soup bowl http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1988-CAMPBELLS-Individual-Soup-Bowl-with-Lid-handles-lidded-Covered-/330835419936 and it isn’t worth anywhere near that price. It is from 1988, and some pinch bowls, new in the package for my Mom. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Norpro-Silicone-Mini-Pinch-Bowls-Set-of-4-NEW-/290926217796 It was an offer what you want to pay garage sale. So I spent a grand total of $1.50. I could have lowballed it at 50 cents, but that didn’t seem fair.
And I went to another community garage sale today in a condo complex. I bought these girls.
The one on the left was free, the one of the right was a buck and the Kewpie baby was 25 cents. I also bought an Anita (a type of barbie doll still in the package.) that looks to be from the 50’s or 60’s. The lady who gave me the one on the left said she won her at a carnival in the 50’s. Her hat was already just hanging (it is a jaunty silver top hat hidden by feathers) and I bumped her head on the roof of my car by mistake. So now the hat won’t stay on. And the feathers are ragged looking. And she does have both arms, on the left side she appears to be an amptutee though, in the pic. So I don’t know if she is worth anything. I think the lady was sad to part with her, she said she’s moving into a smaller place. For now I will hang onto her though. I also bought the Beatles cd Revolver for $2 (overpriced for being used) and Los Vegas coasters for $1 also kind of overpriced. Last night I was watching the movie "The Possession"
http://www.tribute.ca/trailers/the-possession/18710/ I had really been looking forward to seeing in. I hate how they say "Based on a true story though." The only true part is there was an ebay listing years ago for a supposedly haunted wine cabinet. Here is the site for it if you’re interested.
http://www.dibbukbox.com/ I was really interested in ahunted items on ebay, at that time. So I had thought about bidding on it, I obviously didn’t though. So no surprise the possession and other events were greatly exaggerated. It was pretty good but I would have felt ripped off if I had ordered it on pay per view, when I wanted to see it badly.
I love Kewpie dolls! Good find!

OK, I read the haunted cabinet story. It sounds a little kooky. What I don’t get is if this woman’s family were all killed – including her children – then how did she have a granddaughter and great-granddaughter?
