Maamwich

Yesterday I went to buy a few groceries. The cherries were on sale but packed in largeish plastic bags. So I ended up paying $6.50 for them, ouch! I didn’t get enough summer fruit laster though, so I won’t complain too much. I spent $20 and didn’t even buy that  many items.

There was a woman in front of me who said "Oh my visa hasn’t been working lately so let me try it" to the cashier. It didn’t work. So she decides to use her debit card. It did work but before that she said "It hasn’t been working either." Then she made some comment about how the universe was maybe telling her something. I wanted to say "yeah get new cards."

After that I went to mcdonalds to get a coffee. I know that artificial sweetners aren’t good but I think splenda doesn’t have quite the same toxicity as aspartame. And a splenda with two cream tastes the same as a coffee with actual sugar. The day before that I also went to Mcdonalds (bad me) and tried to order a sugar free vanilla iced coffee. Me: " I will have a sugar free vanilla iced coffee please." counter guy" A vanilla iced coffee that has no sugar in it? me" no a Vanilla sugar free Iced coffee it is on the menu." he still didn’t get it And on the picture they have on the till had to punch in ask me. I ended up getting an iced coffee with no sweetness at all in it. So I had to take it back just to get the correct flavour shot.

Then when I went on Sunday I gave the clerk a Maam sandwich. I despise being called Maam. And yes I do get it is a way of addressing someone politely. I still hate it though. So I found a new way to deal with it. Me: "I will have a coffee with 2 splenda & 2 cream please." The clerk misunderstood me. She says "something something Maam?" Me "No 2 splenda and 2 cream please Maam." then she said "Something maam." and I reply "something something Maam." then she finally stopped.  I wasn’t being rude at all give giving a maamwich.

At the Church garage sale on Saturday I saw a Spice Girls mouse pad. A few weeks ago one of their songs came on and my co-worker said he used to like them, and had a crush on Ginger and Baby Spice. He always comes into work way later than me. So I bought it for him and put it on his desk this morning. And stole his other mousepad. I think he may actually like it though, ha.

I made uspside down Sheppards pie last night. The plan was to make regular sheppard pie. It was a bit of prep sauteed onions & mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes (from a box) cheddar cheese, spinach and lean ground beef. I sprayed my pyrex snowflake baking dish with cooking spreay. Then I put the layer of potatoes in. Only then to realize there was only enough for one layer. And with the spray under them I didn’t want to move the potatoes. So potatoe on the bottom then onions & mushrooms, spinach, beef then cheese. It turned out ok.

Ma’am sandwich is awesome. That totally made me laugh. I just bought cherries too that we’re so expensive. And small. I need to go to a fruit stand.

RYN: Great advice!! I was thinking of locking up the fridge, but I like your idea better! STock it with good stuff and any snacks will be locked up! That way he can still eat all the fruits and carrots he wants! 🙂 thank you so much! I definitely need to talk to my doctor about it.

I always buy what I think is too much fruit, but it never goes to waste. I love the spicegirls! LOL that is too funny tho! Your dinner sounded great! I will try that b/c I have all those ingredients, though mine will be a veggie version. Also, I LOVE your Maamwhich! I despise being called Maam. I know Im 41, but still! geesh!
