garbage everywhere

So far I haven’t heard an excessive amount of noise coming from across the hall (from the Anime girls.) Since I left a note. When I did leave the note it was right by the door and not under the door. At that point it was 1 in the morning and I wanted to leave it as quickly as possible to not potentially deal with a confrontation at that time. The real test will be how things are tomorrow, when I have to work the next day.

I do realize they may not know how noisy they are. And although my building is fairly soundproof (brick) they don’t appear to have much common sense. Noise is going to carry to some extent in an apartment building. So the polite thing to do is to not have getogethers after 11 when one knows others in the building, may have to be up early for work the next day. And to not blare music or talk as though there is no-one else in the vicinity.

If the noise continues, I will leave them another note then follow up by going over there, in person. I’m not one, who wants to deal with a situation by swearing or telling someone off. Although when I have dealt with conflict and the other person is not really responding, I have raised my voice. And I hate to say this, but that does seem to get people to respond in a more appropriate manner. And if  the noise does continue I will discuss the situation with my landlords.

I don’t want to be known as the mean old lady from across the hall. But I do think I deserve to get enough sleep at night. And I will do what I need to, for that to happen. I woke up at 3:30 this morning. I fell asleep around 10 or 11. It is now close to 6 in the morning. I just went to check on my car. I live close to a bar and get paranoid that I left my lights on.

So I glance at the front area of the building. My apartment is right by there. There is a fire door, then steps that lead to the front entrance. Directly by the front door is a fairly large garbage container used for the tenants to place flyers and other paper. I know there isn’t anything exciting about that, which is why I haven’t mentioned it before. I’m not sure if the landlords take the contents to the dump or recycle the contants. It is Sunday, so the container was almost full.

When I just went out the door, I noticed that almost all of the flyers were all over the stairs and the floor. This place is a security building meaning that someone needs a key to get into the building. It seems that someone either kicked that container over or was drunk and knocked it over. Either way it wasn’t just a few papers. I picked it all up and it took me a few minutes. I find it disturbing that someone would happen and just not care. And because there was just a door separating, that garbage from being right by my place. I think if they are going to do that what else could they be capable of doing? I’m a pretty light sleeper but I didn’t even hear any noise out of the ordinary.

Last year I wrote about how I came home from work one day and there was a brown car parked in my spot. It isn’t really my designated parking spot. I have been using it for years though and the landlords know. I had waited to find out who parked there. Finally an old lady came out. From her body language, she was tense. She was confrontational with me and insisted she could park there because her grondson just moved in and it was her spot. The sitation was resolved after I phoned my landlords.

Saturday afternoon I went to check how my car is starting up. Since it was dead last week (even though I had the battery replaced) I am paranoid. There was a brown car not even in a parking  spot but just to the side of the building parked fairly close, right behind my car. If i had to go anywhere on Saturday it would have been a struggle to back out of my spot, I suspect it was the car that belonged to that lady. There is visitor street parking out front. But she seems kind of mental. So she probably got it in her head that she had to park at the back. I smirked a  bit knowing that when she got into the parking lot she probably searched for a spot. And couldn’t park close to my car because those spots are deep with snow. Her grandson who lives here is super sweet, every time I talk to him

If the anime girls are disturbing your street, you should continue to try to deal with the situation. You pay rent in order to have a calm environment to live in. Good luck! Hopefully the note will do the job!

I hope the anime girls continue to keep the noise level down. I get really grouchy about inconsiderate people, I hope they appreciate how patient you’ve been in dealing with their noise.
