moldy strawberries and not much sleep
Last night I fell asleep around 12:30. I get up around 6:30. I put my sound machine on and thought I would be able to get enough sleep. Suddenly I was awaken by a loud bang. There was a thunderstorm. As I lay in bed trying to get back to sleep, the storm raged on. It was so intense that it looked like someone had a strobe light on. I went to close the window in the kitchen, and to see if Coro was scared. He seemed ok. At one point it was raining so hard I thought there would be flooding. The storm went on for over two hours. Finally around 2:30 or 3 I drifted off to sleep. I was so tired when I woke up I didn’t know how I would make it through the day. And to add to me being incoherent I had cramps. It seemed like one of the longest days ever. When I finally got home I slept hard for a few hours.
I was about to enjoy some strawberries I bought last week. I opened the container and spotted a moldy one. So now I can’t eat them, ick. I have a craving for summer fruit right now. I can’t believe how much bread is. I buy discount bread but sometimes the selection is minimal. It is usually just weight watchers & wonder bread. Yesterday there was a better selection. I bought raisin bagels, plain bagels and cranberry muesli bread. All for $3.
I need more summer clothes. I want to go to the mall on the weekend. This whole month of July has pretty much been a heatwave. I have no AC at home or in the office. It was nice to stay at my parents place last weekend. They have a big house with AC and a nice deck. It was too hot to sit out there for long though. I did for a while and started to get a headache. So I retreated to the cool basement after that.
The roller derby bout on Saturday was ok. I had pms but just thought I was feeling moody. At derby little ones aren’t supposed to sit in the first few rows There was a grandma and her family there. They knew one of the players. It was fresh meat so my faves weren’t playing. At one point this lady was right beside me in the second row, with young children sitting by her. I nicely told her kids under 18 couldn’t be in the first few rows. She was ok with it. There were two bouts a junior one, then the fresh meat one with older girls.
Near the end of the junior bout this lady who knew the one I had talked to, had her very young grandson on her lap. He was maybe 2 or 3 at the most. She was on the second bleacher right behind me. She looked like the type of person who would flip out. So instinct told me not to mention it about kids not being in the first few rows. I am pretty sure she already knew though. The child squirmed so much I couldn’t focus. Pretty soon he was right beside me with her just supporting his arms. If a derby girl had fallen he would have been squished. I had a hoodie beside me. He was so close his head was practically on the hoodie. I loudly said to karl "kids aren’t supposed to be in the first few rows are they?" She didn’t even look at me. It pretty much wrecked the bout for me.
She left for a while after the bout was over. I knew she would try to put her feet on the bleacher below when she came back. Too close for my liking. So I asked Karl to move to the bleacher below where her feet had been before. I did clean it off first, heh. When she came back she was right behind me so she couldn’t do that. And I waved my hands around as much as I could when cheering the girls on. So I could attempt to annoy her as well. Roller derby used to be so fun to watch. Now there are usually people acting like that though.
On Friday I watched "It." I don’t like clowns and I like Stephen King’s older books. That book is way too long though. Even the movie is at least three hours. Spooky but I hate how Pennywise keeps saying "they all float down here." It gets old after a while. I was doing laundry while I watched it.

There was a storm here last night too for a little bit. I haven’t been sleeping nights though, so didn’t wake me up or anything. I need new clothes too. I’ve got a lot of winter things, but need nice summer clothes. I’ve never been to a roller derby, but seems like it would be fun to look at! 🙂 Have fun shopping this weekend! <3

I love thunderstorms, but not when they wake me up at night. Hope you get lots more sleep tonight! That’s always disappointing, when you’re so excited to eat something and it’s gone bad. Strawberries sound good :o)

I had to figure out what a sound machine was for. So do you DO roller derby or just watch?

ryn: yeah, we don’t have one here either. I just don’t think trying to sink someone financially for having an unpopular opinion is any better than what he said in the first place.
