she is beautiful. this is not the kind of beauty that stops traffic, makes men walk into closed doors, the kind that brings on solicitation 20 times a day. it’s superficial, physical beauty to be sure, but this kind could not be seen in a photo. it wouldn’t be seen in a passing glance on the street. it is the kind that only can be discovered when you see her move. when you see the variations from day to day in dress, in hair, in everything she choses to go with the day. In reaching for something, in chewing a pencil, in looking downward, in reclining, in the delicate way of holding a cellphone or waving, the distinctiveness of walk. A subtle aversion not to eye contact, but to too much eye contact. You can see it from all angles. When you walk by a room and she doesn’t see you. Inflections of voice and expressions of emotion. Unposed and only stray hairs and napes and nervously touching her face. Not only can it never be described in language, it can’t even be seen with the eye. it only comes from the entire thing coming together all in harmony with itself in every point and at every moment, singing to all five senses. it has no past, it has no future. it just is part of the world that makes it worth living in.

I want to smile when I read this…the words are very beautiful and they flow so seamlessly across the screen… And yet for some reason…I almost feel like crying right now… Funny, huh? *sad lil’ smile* Take good care, Mark. Hope you have a great weekend.

We went by on rt 80, so I guess the closest we were ever was at Des Moines. We found Iowa to be full of mouth watering corn-fed young men much like yourself!

ryn: why can it ‘never be’? who is this girl, anyway?

See, it’s stuff like this that does make you uncommon, even though you don’t think you are! Don’t argue with me. Believe All-Knowing Amanda.

What, my couch is probably MORE comfortable than yours. Yours is still all new and…not broken in and whatnot. This couch is awesome, I sleep like a champ on this thing. Annnndd…I’m realizing that I might be too competitive about dumb stuff as I type this. Sorry about the game. Caught the last 21 seconds. Ha.

I have the same thought about all the bodyguards too. I wonder if sometimes traveling with a big entourage doesn’t attract more attention. Prince Naseem used to travel with this big white dude and I was like…you’re a professional fighter! you kick people’s asses for a living, you don’t need a bodyguard! but he was 5’3″ and Christina is 5’2″ and I guess I can sympathize with the special inherent risks of being small. also, I would imagine that you could always just get out of your hometown and go someplace far away if you wanted a break from being bothered. easy for me to speculate I suppose.
