Today was madness! My Annabelle continues her streak of waking early, though today I can be grateful it was 6 and not any earlier….but it threw off my carefully planned morning! It took me an hour to get her back to sleep, then OOPS!! We fell back asleep and all of a sudden it was 9:15!

So my morning errands were canceled, and I just managed to get the family ready, diaper bag packed, and out the door by (just after) 10. It was great really because we were just on time!

We were headed to Ella’s friend’s 2nd birthday party!

We were there 2 hours, and it was crazy…as kids parties always are….but my girls were very good. They were the most dressed up out of all of them. Ella wore the flowergirl dress from my wedding she inherited, along with pink polka dot tights, ribbons in her red curly hair, and her black stomper boots. LOVE IT! I called her my punk princess, lol.

Anna was also lovely in a floral dress, pink tights and a little ponytail in her hair. They wore matching cardigans and I must say I LOVE my lil girls getting all dressed up! I just wanted to take pictures of them all day, lol.

Well we got the bday girl a Dora teaset, and ALL the kids went crazy over it! Was so awesome, you know how hard it is to decide on a kids present, and then you just worry they’re gonna chuck it aside for something better. This was very gratifying (after my awful shopping trip especially!)

After lots of goodies and manic playing, we all trooped out to the yard for the kids to play with the bubble machine. I don’t know what it is about bubbles that kids inevitably go crazy over them! This time was no exception, and they rain around screaming and yelling for a good half an hour.

Then they decided to take pictures. We had a “mum’s” picture. Funny, 3 of the 5 of us are currently pregnant, and 1 had had a baby only a few weeks ago. We also are due Oct, Nov, Jan….so bumps varied greatly!

After we said our goodbyes there, we headed home to quickly change to jeans and t-shirts for a spitroast bday party for my friend. When we arrived, found out she’s pregnant too! Due a month after me 🙂 Oops, guess I shouldn’t have brought her a bottle of wine then! haha

We were only there an hour maybe when I took Annabelle to the swings while Ali chased Ella through the house (chasing boys of course!) Annabelle had the BIGGEST smile on her face while she was swinging. And one of my favourite things about her is that she has a smile for everyone she meets. A dad was swinging his very shy daughter as well, and my Anna just grinned at him and waved at the daughter and kept having her fun!

Unfortunately before we managed to partake of the yummy smelling spitroast, I hurt my back picking up a child (doh!), and I knew I needed to go and lay down before I made it worse.

Spent the afternoon on the couch watching hubby play car racing games….he even gave me a go! Brief go, thankfully, lol. But I think I did better than either of us were expecting!!

Ella went to sleep in her daddy’s arms watching Wall-E, and her daddy had a bit of shuteye with her. Nothing more amazingly sweet than seeing the love of your life sleeping with his strong arms encircling and protecting your sweet sleeping daughter. She was curled into his chest with an arm reaching around him….it was just beautiful. I wish I had had my camera, but if I had moved, the spell would have broken and I chose to enjoy it.

Now I need to go soothe hubby’s feelings I think, since I wanted to spend some time, but stopped to write a “quick” entry.
