Funny how when I have been productive, I feel like writing a diary entry, and when I have been a lazy bum, I end up skipping!!

Tuesday was Alister’s night off, so we got some butter chicken from the BEST Indian place in Nelson (I had a half off voucher), and it was yum!! But I didn’t know that Ali wasn’t feeling well, so we both had half our meals, and saved the other half for lunch the next day. It worked out really well, and I was happy with it, since usually I stuff myself with Indian and always regret it after!

That night was a less stressful repeat of monday night, where he played his game, and I hung out with him on and off while taking care of the kids. It was nice rather than hectic, probably because I had no expectation of him trying to take care of them.

Yesterday was a very cold day, well…cold for Nelson. But I spent some time in my bathrobe (ie…most of the day) and we stayed indoors. I did make it to the grocery store and managed to go just over budget. That was purely because i decided to buy the venus razors that cost $20 for 4….which sounds awful, but they are a STAPLE when I’m pregnant. They have the shaving cream already on, and it just means I can easily shave without all the interesting maneuvers one has to employ while shaving and keeping shaving cream on.

Last night I made fried chicken while Ali gave the girls a bath. The funny thing was that I’m merrily making dinner, thinking the girls would be out and dressed…..and Ali is waiting for me to come get the girls out because he doesn’t know what to do, lol. So my poor wrinkly girls came out of the bath in between taking the chicken out of the pan and the veggies being done. Dinner was a success all around though, it’s a rare meal that everyone actually eats at least 2/3 of the meal. Although Ella, who LOVES broccoli….that day decided only the tops were good enough for her…..so left on her plate were the mini trees of broccoli, with a crescent shaped bite out of the tops of each. Too cute!

Today we had a play date with our new neighbors girls, and it was lovely 🙂 I really enjoy the company, and her girls are well behaved and delightful. Now my girls aren’t always angels, but I have a couple friends whose kids are NIGHTMARES when they come over. I don’t expect every kid to share, and I always expect a few fights and tears….but yikes. Anyway, Lucy and Taylah are just sweet and adorable.

This evening I got to chat online with my mommy as well, on the xbox video chat. The sound got a bit frustrating, but her face while she watches my girls is awesome and makes it worth it! I also got to watch her face while she watched a video I recently posted of them on facebook, and you could just see the love she has for them on her face. I LOVE my mommy! 🙂

So now Anna is sleeping in the bed behind me, Ella is watching Dora, and we’re waiting for daddy to come home in 45 minutes! Tonight will be chores, family time, and possibly more cookie baking! The way Ali has been chowing my cookies, I’d better! (I made a double batch and only baked 2 dozen. The rest of the dough is in the fridge MOCKING ME!! Of course I can’t eat the dough because of the raw egg and me being pregnant. Doh!)

Ok, off I go!

I haven’t been to Nelson, but on my next trip to NZ I definitely want to get the ferry from Wellington across and then travel the bits of the South Island that I haven’t seen.
