Record

I’ve been thinking more and more that I really should keep more of a record of my day to day life. I know it ends up being boring for other people, but dang it, a diary is for ME right? Just because other people happen to read it, I tend to not bother with the everyday stuff.

So today was another confusing early morning (daylight savings just happened, and I really am struggling this time!). The girls both woke up just after Alister left for work, and we had a cuddle in the big bed, but no one was going back to sleep but me, so the girls were herded to the living room.

We had some breakfast, and I put on The Incredibles. The girls like to run around and play all over the house, but a movie on the background is a nice distraction for when they get tired and want to sit for a minute 😉 I surfed on my computer for a bit , and then I worked on my cakebook (a cookbook for cakes!) for a forum I am a member of. Anna fell asleep on my lap as she was having a bottle, but that didn’t last long!

Alister came home and smelled a dirty diaper, so he went and hid so I would have to do it! lol. About halfway through, both girls were settled in for their afternoon nap, so I got to enjoy a few minutes peace before Alister went back to work.

When he left, I finished my lunch, and was reading a book for a while (I’m working my way through the Sookie Stackhouse series at the moment). Then I made some black gum paste roses for my cake for this weekend (4 of them to be exact! I had made the inside cones yesterday, and today I put the petals on. Annabelle woke up just as I was starting, and it was a real effort to carry on, but I was determined!! Ella even woke up shortly thereafter and I carried on. I was so proud. I put them away to dry before i put the final colour on, then I spent some time with my girls. Annabelle fell asleep in my lap just as Ali came home, so down she went, and I got a chance to colour my roses before dinner. They turned out soooo well!!

Made some fried chicken and rice for dinner, then as it is Tues (and Ali loves Tues….it’s his “night off”), Ali went to his mancave, and I vacuumed up all the rice off the floor (I have a 2 y/o and a 1 y/o….it’s expected, lol). The girls have been chilling and playing with each other, and now it’s time for them to go to bed!!

Oh, I almost forgot, I did some online shopping today, and something is coming in the mail for each of us! Ali is getting some more jeans and a jumper (NZ slang for sweater), and the girls are getting boots, and I am getting some second hand cake pans! I excited because for the price of 1 square pan, I’m getting 2 sizes I don’t have in square, plus 2 in round, a loaf pan (extendable), and 2 “patty cake” tins (smaller cupcakes).

Anyway, Anna is stinky and these girls need to get in bed before Ali yells at me 😉

Night!

Steph

lol, that is funny your husband hides when there’s a dirty diaper to be changed! And definitely write whatever you want. Like you said, it’s really just for you. 🙂 That is why I often talk about my crushes! haha.

my hubbie has a mancave too. It was in the garage, but now that we’ve moved, it’s under the house.
