Weather, colds, possible opportunities
I’ve been wanting to upload some pics, but I’ve been using Jamie’s pc, so I haven’t even been attempting it.
I took the kids(Ethan, as well as the two I babysit) outside for over an hour this morning. It is so nice and summery today. I think the high is 82 or 84! Hopefully we are finally finished with the cold/nasty weather. We will probably go back outside this afternoon after naptime, and definitely this evening after Owen gets home from preschool. I can’t wait until it stays warm enough to get out the pool, and water sprinklers. I’m excited for summer! In just 2 1/2 weeks, we will be at the beach! I can’t wait! There is still quite a few things I need to buy before we go. I’ve been trying to pick up things here and there, so it won’t seem like so much all at once. Our hotel room has a kitchen in it, so we will atleast be eating 2 out of 3 meals in the room each day. I’ve made my shopping list, and am slowly checking items off. My friend Courtney is going to dog sit, so that is one less thing to worry about. I’ll have my mom stop by the house a few times to get the mail and check on my cat.
We purchased a new mattress and box spring yesterday. Ours is only 5 years old, and has HUGE dips in it. I wish we would have kept the paperwork so we could have gotten a new one (from warranty). Our new one is quite firm. I’m worried that I won’t like it after I have slept on it. It comes with 120 day exchange so we can get something softer if I don’t like it. The kids were running around like crazy while we were trying out the mattresses to see what type we like. At one point Ethan took off running to the front of the store, and straight out the doors! That kid is either going to get seriously hurt, or I’m going to have a heart attack. Luckily he stopped on the sidewalk, and didn’t continue into the parking lot. Anyways, our new mattress is going to be delivered on Friday.
All of the kids (my two as well as the two I babysit) have horrible sounding coughs. It is concerning. The little girl’s mom took her to the doctor twice, and they told her it was just allergies. I have never heard allergies sound that bad, and is it just a coincidence that all 4 of them have the cough? I’ve been giving Ethan allergy medicine, and it doesn’t seem to be helping at all.
There is a possible job opportunity for me at the university where my husband works (and where I graduated from). I’m not counting on it or anything, but the lady who is going to hire the position seemed really interested in having me work there. I’m torn on whether I want to work and put the kids in daycare, but I think it would be a good change for us. I’ve been home for quite a while, and I am ready for an identity outside of "mommy". The job is grant funded though, which means if the grant money is gone, so will be the job. I think I would like it. Who knows, they may hire someone else, and never even interview me. I guess that is the good part about most of the university staff liking my husband so much, is that I can potentially get a job through networking. We’ll see. I think it would be great for both Jamie and I to work at the same place. We could ride to work together, have lunch together, and there is a daycare on campus. The only problem I have thought of, is Owen’s school situation. I don’t know what we would do with him after school lets out. I would like for him to go to the daycare on campus, but the bus doesnt come that far. Ofcourse I don’t really have to worry about any of this until the job is posted and if I get an interview.
