I’m terrible with titles.
Monday already. Weekends aren’t long enough. I miss Jamie having three day weekends. This weekend was pretty low key. It rained off an on all weekend, so going outside to do anything was pretty much out of the question. I had wanted to go to the state fair, but the weather wasn’t too favorable. Maybe we will go next weekend if Jamie is feeling up to it. Friday I was supposed to have lunch with my friend Courtney. She wound up bringing her husband and 3 of her nieces and nephews. I didn’t know she was bringing them, so I was quite surprised when Owen said "Mommy there is a bunch of kids outside" haha. We wound up taking them all to McDonalds to burn off some energy in the play place and grab a quick lunch.
Saturday my parents came to visit for a little while. We wound up dropping the kids off at their house for a few hours that evening and went out to dinner. We had wanted to see a movie, but we didn’t make it in time to see an early enough show. I didn’t want to leave them there overnight because I knew she would be keeping them tonight. We ate at Texas Roadhouse (mmm steak!) and then picked up a few school clothes for Owen. We bought him quite a few short sleeve shirts, now I just need to buy him long sleeves. He starts back to preschool on next Tuesday. We’re supposed to hear from his new teacher and schedule a home visit this week. I can’t believe summer is winding down. It has been a really good summer for us though. We have done a lot of activities with the kids, and that was my main goal.
Jamie’s surgery is scheduled for 6am tomorrow. I’ll be dropping off the kids at my mom’s house tonight, and then my sister in law will keep them tomorrow. I’m nervous for him, but I’m excited to get it over with. He will be off from work for the next week or so, maybe longer depending on how the surgery goes.
Weight loss is going pretty good. I’m not sure I’m going to meet my goal for the dietbet or not. I started out really slow, and I’m not sure if I am going to be able to catch up or not. We’ll see I guess. Maybe I’ll have a big drop in weight miraculously haha. I’m excited to get to the point that I start noticing that I have lost weight again. I have gotten used to my current weight (which is nearly 30 lbs less than I was at this time last year!!!). It is extremely motivating once you get to that point. I want to feel my clothes get looser, as well as see the numbers drop. I’ve been doing good about working out (on the elliptical), sometimes twice a day if I can. I’ve been sticking to my calories pretty well too most days (weekends I am just a tiny bit more relaxed). Even on the weekends, I don’t go overboard. I usually wind up between 1500 and 1800 calories on those days. It’s hard for me to eat good when Jamie is home, so I’m hoping him being home this week isn’t going to derail me. I have gained some pretty incredible willpower though. He brought me home a cookies and cream milkshake from Chic Fil A a couple days ago, and I didn’t even taste it (don’t worry, it didn’t go to waste, Owen drank it). Small steps lead to big changes right? I have noticed that I am eating less portion wise. I got an order of wings for dinner last night. I ate 5 wings and was full (usually I would eat the whole order of 10, and then move on to some pizza or bread sticks).
