Calorie bonus, Owen’s hearing**

So I did some research on my elliptical and the calories burned display.  The elliptical is programmed for a 150 lb person.  So, I was happy to find out that I am actually burning MORE calories than it displays!  Boo yah!

Ugh, just got a call I wasn’t expecting.  A rehab center called to set up an appointment to have Owen’s hearing tested.  Apparently the specialist at preschool referred him.  Nice that the school didn’t tell us anything about it.  Grr.  I’m getting annoyed with his school and their lack of communication.  I don’t think he has a hearing problem but it won’t hurt to double check.  When he was a baby, I would tiptoe from my room to the bathroom, and it would wake him up.  If he has a hearing problem though, it would explain why he is so loud all of the time.  Seriously, he talks really loud.  I thought it was just a sensory thing or him being a typical kid who wants to be heard.  Now we just wait and see.  I’m worried he won’t cooperate for the test.  We did a hearing test at his last well child visit, but he only cooperated somewhat.  He did ok with that test, and the nurse said she didn’t think he had a hearing problem.  When you have kids, there is just SO MUCH to always worry about.  Is my child healthy, is my child functioning as they should?  I didn’t even expect this to come up.

The little boy I babysit was supposed to be here today, but his dad called and said he was going to take him to the dr instead because he has a bad cough.  I’m hoping he keeps him home for the rest of the week.  We are just now getting over a cold.  I’m not looking forward to my kids getting sick again.  Izzy has been coughing and has a runny nose.
