Big Thanksgiving

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone’s Thanksgiving went well.  We had quite a deal here, and it went very very well.

Sweety and I were awakened by the doggies and g******it 5:30 in the morning…  So, we started fixing food.  Wednesday nite, I had fixed another batch of that Mediterranean wild rice that we in the previous entry and Sweety had done a pumpkin/apple pie.  Thurs morning Sweety did a couple of dessert breads (one pumpkin and one banana, I think) and her delicious sourdough bread, and I did a cherry pie, got the orange cinammon sweet potatoes going, and prepped the turkey.  I do the turkey out on the bbq grill – it cooks really well in about 2 1/2 hours or so, and frees up the oven for other things.  I did a fresh cranberry relish while the turkey was cooking.  Um, what else did we cook… uh, can’t remember.

We had 6 guests, all from our transgender group (the "Girls Club" as Sweety and I refer to it).  They started showing up around 3:30.  One, from Texas, was a big Dallas Cowboys fan, so she planted herself in the family room in front of the tv.  Everyone cept 1 was here by 4, the last one didn’t make it here till 6 or so – she had to work.  I think we started eating around 5:30?  I don’t really remember — we were still eating when the last guest arrived.  Folks brought green bean casserole, an apple pie, gingerbread, and vegetarian bean soup.  and lots of wine.  I think we killed about 5 bottles last nite.  One guest had to leave early (work again early Friday morning), the others finally rolled out around midnite.

We have some great leftovers now, and can have a quiet day here, catching up on work online, relaxing.  We both need a nice relax a lot.

Take care everyone, and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

hugs

-Jude
