Too Fast

The weekend was a brief moment in time; it is already Monday and back to work. I did some Christmas shopping, which was mostly on-line, except for a quick trip to Wal-Mart. Actually (I almost forgot) on Saturday, Linda and I went to Burlington Coat Factory and I got a long jacket to wear with dress pants. We looked at other things but did not find anything to give each other.  We always buy stuff for ourselves and hand it off, with the comment: "Here you can wrap this for me".

We have some traditional gifts that we give to each other every year. I get Linda salt and pepper shakers and slippers (already purchased) and she gives me a dog calendar and at least one bird feeder. The bears always manage to mangle my favorite feeder. We usually buy most of our own clothes and make some sort of something by hand. For the past several years I have put together a book called "Fur Babies", which contains photographs of our kids and their clever sayings . This year it is "The New Fur Babies", since the cast of characters changed last year. I create the pictures in Broderbund Print Shop, save them as a .pdf and from there I can create .jpg files. One of these days I will post some of them.

Tomorrow is Lucy’s big day. I have to bring her to the vet at 8AM. She will be coming home late in the afternoon. When Kody was spayed, she stayed over night. I am not comfortable with bringing her home on the same day, but that’s how they do it.  (It is a different animal hospital; the one associated with the mobile vet who comes to the house.

The fish tank is coming along and is still quite a hole in the wall. I do see progress, however.

The new job is still out there as a possibility. I received an email last Friday from the recruiter, which loosely translated said, "Hang in there". I am.

Have a great week!

That’s how we do our spay/neuters at our clinic .. you can however pay the boarding fee and they can stay over night if that’s what you wish.

Actually, I was just the opposite. I was far more comfortable bringing my dogs home than leaving them at the vet after they were spayed or neutered. I figured I’d pay better attention to them than the night people would. I like the idea of your traditional gifts to each other. Very sweet.

Well, you had better send Lucy some flowers after her surgery. That was the old joke around our house when one of the animals had to go in.

I’ve worked at vets that sent them home that day and others that kept them overnight. It’s really just about keeping them quiet for the evening and not jumping around/moving too much. Also, sometimes when they are still coming out of anesthesia they will whine and cry like they are in pain.. but it’s just the effects from the medicine. Just a heads up 🙂

Weekend did go way too fast ! We always paid extra and left our cats and dogs at the vets overnight … I was always nervous that something might happen and we always had other animals at home and I didn’t wan’t the recovering one to get all excited and well you know … so we just left them to the next day. I can’t think of Christmas either till after Thanksgiving. Seems like every thingis constantly in a rush these days. 🙁 I don’t like that. LOL Take care and keeping fingers crossed for job …

I always bring my new pets home from the spay or neuter the same day because I always sign to have pain meds administered. It makes them very sleepy- so they just sleep their way through the worst of it and I get to see to their care and they would rather be at home where they feel comfortable instead of a stainless steel tiny cage.
