Some News

Well, here I am back from my hiatus. For a while, I had nothing new to write about and was depressed about the seemingly never-ending MD job. I was working alone in a cubicle and getting all of my instructions via email, which was pissing me off mightily. I asked if I could work at home, since I had absolutely no face time with anyone for two weeks. They said as long as I am doing what I am currently doing, OK. I am not part of a project, just doing individual system changes.

I have been looking for new work anyway, since at one point or another, I will need to be on-site in MD. I have had three interviews so far with a company that does outsourcing (among other things). This is for a remote position with a hospital in KY. I have a final executive interview in KY next Friday. This will probably be an offer and a good one, if I get what I asked for. My new thing is, "If you don’t ask, you don’t get". It’s about time I got that!

Last Thursday morning, I did a swan dive off of the step leading from the house to the poolroom. I landed on my right ankle. The pain was searing and I thought I had broken it. I was able to pull myself up with the railings from the poolroom steps and could put pressure on the foot. It is badly sprained and looked as if there was a baseball in my ankle. I have kept it elevated with ice for most of the time. It’s getting better, but now is lovely colors and looks like there is a golf ball in it. I spent all of last weekend either in bed or on the couch and caught up with every movie I never wanted to see.

On to other things:

Lucy is 5 1/2 months old and is strong and muscular. Kody has become the Alpha Dog and Lucy will back off from food (for which I am very grateful). She does, however still torment Kody to play. (It wasn’t that long ago that Kody did that to Cookie).

Lucy is into everything and is quite the chewer. The good news is that she has been house trained since about three weeks after we got her. I never had a puppy train so quickly.

Bandit still does not trust Lucy (smart cat) and spends most of her time upstairs, where I have been feeding her or outside.

Fall is rapidly arriving! The grasses all have their plumes swaying in the breeze and the trees have started to turn color.

The goldfish were busy all summer making babies and we now have quite the collection. The Koi did not do too well and we are down to one.

So good to see your entry. Great photos … will keep you in my prayers for the KY job. Hope that ankle is feeling better soon … remember the next time you do a swan dive it is into a pool of water … LOL Smiles & hugs,

oooh, bandit is so pretty. Glad Kody is getting the upper hand a bit – funny how dogs forget they were puppies. Mine having bugged everyone to play for years is now quite the grumpy old lady around younger dogs. Good luck with your job. Hopefully you will find something better for you. Still, I’m glad they agreed that you could work from home.

Did you get your ankle xrayed? If not you really should. I thought mine was fine too and it was broke in 3 places. I hope it feels better real soon.

Please consider having that ankle exrayed. The docs told me mine was sprained until they exrayed it. Here in San Diego, the Japanese Gardens just lost all their Koi when the pumps quit. Big shock. So many were huge and beautiful.
