Anxious

I have not had any work this week and that makes me very anxious. I have started looking for a new situation – so far only on the Internet. I posted my resume on several sites and the woman I work for saw it out there – not a good thing. I applied for several jobs and who knows? I would not like to commute a long distance, with gas as high as it is and I don’t enjoy getting up and out with big-girl clothes and make-up, etc. I also would have to go back to working 5 days and  the thought of going to an office every day, with it’s pettiness, politics and generic bullshit does not thrill and delight me!  The alternative is traveling every week, which I like even less. I have been working at home since 1999, with occasional trips to the great beyond.

I have also been taking some photos –

We had a powerful storm on Sunday night and I caught this bolt. It’s the only one that came out. Two nights ago, we had another storm and lost power  at about 8:30. Linda and I said – No TV, No Internet – Let’s go shopping! We go dressed, and headed to Lowe’s and looked at windows (I know, not so exciting, but it was better than a dark house). We got DQ cones and headed home.

We have a new bird … I looked it up and it is a Cedar Waxwing; one that I have never seen before. They love the cherries, which by the way, we picked two bags of them this evening – yummo. Kody seems to be keeping the yard bear-free.

There were many gathering to chatter and eat.

I also saw this Goldfinch on the feeder that is hanging from the new deck. It’s the only one I have seen and this is the only picture I was able to get of it.

I have not seen many butterflies, since we moved the two large butterfly bushes. They are not doing too well and one looks totally dead. I bought two small ones that by next year ‘should’ produce flowers.

These come back every year and once again, I have no clue what they are.

You get the most amazing birds. I’m a little jealous. All I get is one very annoying mockingbird that screeches for hours and used to attack the stray cat I was feeding and a few black birds that would eat the left over cat food. I thought that was cute until they started pooping all over the railing & the porch. 🙁 Good luck with the job hunt.

I LOVE Cedar Waxwings! They descend upon trees with berries and just clear ’em.

Hope the anxious job situation is resolved very soon. My husband just found out yesterday that his contract, which ends June 30 will most likely not be renewed. The photos are perfect. Perhaps you could become a professional wildlife photographer.

What pretty Cedar Waxwings – my parents always got a flock of them once a year. They’d come in, eat all the berries on the crabapple trees, and move on after a couple of days. I hope you find the perfect job fast!!

Lots of hugs about the job situation. I like the suggestion of you becoming a professional photog!

That stinks about the job situation..especially that one lady seeing that you’ve been looking around. I know once you get used to working a certain way, it’s hard to have to change that routine. And with gas…whoa, if Chris didn’t have the company truck to drive, we’d be sunk. The pics were lovely. Those Cedar Waxwing birds are so cool looking. :)) P.S. We had a power outage too…but we didn’t going shopping..bummer!!!

We used to get Cedar Waxwings in Missouri–an enormous berry bush of some kind got them to stop every year on their way to wherever. Do hope the job situation perks up for you–putting on big girl clothes and dealing with the office uglies is not fun.
