Oceans

I hear that real winter has arrived in the upper Midwest. Temperatures will be approaching zero (F) with a cover of white snow. You poor people.

B and I needed a break from Oz’s inland temperatures as well, so we took the drive down the York Peninsula to get a much needed dose of deep blue. Deep blue as in the ocean. There is something compelling about water. Water that breaths with endless energy that never runs out. How can we not love the oceans?  Don’t we add salt to our food to help remind us of oceans?  Allow me to share.

Camping at our favorite beach at Innes costs $24 for two days. It has its pros and cons.

I do have one gripe about camping in Australia. It also happens in America. It is one thing that I can easily blame on women. I’ve observed that a lot of foreign ladies especially contribute to this problem (not directly).

It’s toilet paper. Toilet paper that is discarded behind the bushes at almost every campsite. B and I both find it disgusting. Hey Ladies!! Bury it!!

I suppose I can also blame women for all the discarded disposable diapers, too (Aussies call them “nappies). After all, us men do have a tendency to let women handle that department. Most women want the intimate bonding that comes from diaper changing… and this also allows them to file it under “suffering” for retrieval during later arguments. Please tell me that I’m wrong.

Anyway, step into my cave and take a break from the blazing sun.

Lean back and listen to the ocean waves.

Let the waves wash away your problems.

Stress your body to match that in your head.

Let yourself take a needed nap.

I envy your life (I see someone wrote that before me but I’m not letting that stop me saying it too). And you are SOOOOOO wrong.

There are better ways of bonding than over stinky nappies! I agree about the loo paper, but I think men do it too. Thanks for the ocean. I enjoyed those clips.
