Leafing
The peak leaf color this fall came and went with a gust of wind. I can’t complain about the summery temperatures going on right now, though. Just knowing that the cold, winter weather gets closer every day keeps me busy with preparations. That’s Wisconsin.
On a scale of 10, I’ll give this year’s colors a 3. I guess it has been dryer than normal. In the category of species coordination, I’ll give it a 1, but that’s global warming.
B will still with me for another month. We’ve been running around the country-side doing whatever feels like fun. It’s likely that I’ll join her in Oz in November, but I always try to prepare for any and all options. That’s called freedom. Here’s B on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi.
We canoed on it, too.
I caught her in the bathroom the other day and noticed how well her slippers match the rug.
Here’s a crazy old man saving $1000 with DIY tree trimming. Try climbing 14 feet beyond a 12 foot ladder to cut a 12 inch diameter limb with a six inch chain saw to fell a 33 foot limb that hangs over the house.
Saw it just enough so you can climb down to pull on a rope to make it fall just right. Get the rope up there with a bow and arrow attached to fishing line. Use a winch to hold the rope tight. Drill holes to pound in stakes made by grinding metal spikes off of an old staircase support. I’m glad that’s over.
I am so busy.
Just a couple more…
I love barns.
Human interference?</

Hope you’re having a good one, too.

wow, I had to stare for a WHILE before I realised where the slippers actually were! all I saw at first was the black socks and red pants, I couldn’t figure out what I was looking at! then suddenly the actual slippers became visible 🙂

splitter. With the cost of buying wood it was sad seeing all the lovely tree being taken away. The colors are just getting good here on the trees. We went to Cape Breton a couple weekends ago but it was too early for the beauty of the Cabot Trail which has miles and miles of hardwood trees and a real treasure of nature to see in full riot color. I missed it this year, dammit! Take care, have fun.
