Catch up
contrary to popular belief, I am in fact alive. Breathing and everything. Get me.
Loads has happened recently. Nothing too important really. Little fallings out, big makings up, lots of drinking, a little bit of partying plus the usual eating drinking sleeping routine.
last week stayed up all night pretty much every night trying to get my assignment done. Started most parts Thursday night. Had to be in by 3pm Friday. Got to bed at 10am Friday morning after handing it in. That was fun. Thinking about my assignment since, I have missed so much out. Lesson kids: don’t leave stuff until the night before it’s meant to be handed in. and if you stay up at night in the week before it’s to be in, actually do your work – don’t do online puzzles.
this week emily and ella were meant to be coming clubbing in cambridge with me. what a surprise they aint here. Not em’s fault tho. Ella and Tara’s fault.
stuff with the house next year is all messed up. it’s still our house but we haven;t signed contracts or anything because Jamie’s a stupid wankstain (we used to call people that when we were liek 13 and recently i’m in the mood for oldschool insults).we still havent seen two of the rooms and every time we organise to see them, the guy who lives there has gone out even though he’s promised to be in. idiot. i’m trying my hardest to sort it (and noone’s offering to help). I had it sorted before Jamie refused to sign the contract. He didn’t want to before he saw the other two rooms. which would make sense in any normal situation but…we have no time to find another house. Laura goes home Friday or Saturday. As in…a couple of days time. If Jamie can find us another place to live and get it to contract signing point within 2 days we’ll happily go along with it. But this landlord toook the house off the market for us 2 months ago now and then Jamie said he wasn’t paying his deposit. and plus jamie bought his mate along and mucked around the entire time…anyway that’s an old argument that’s been sorted. man, how are we gonna live with jamie?
me and jord are good. celebrated our 1 year anniversary on the 6th may. we didn’t do anything special – just had a very ‘us’ weekend. science museum, takeaways, visiting family, dvd – the usual stuff that makes us the couple we are.
i have to move out of halls soon. *cries* i don’t want to leave. I love it here. I’m going to miss my neighbours so much. George knocking on my wall before we both go to sleep to say goodnight…George and Phil telling me about their poo and farts…Andrew being generally strange…Kayleigh and her LOUD laugh…Zoe and her dreads…haha my kitchen mates and corridor mates are pretty awesome really. I’m going to miss George and Phil terribly. You will never ever meet another pair like them. And George’s omelettes. Never eat them. He’s getting better. His first attempt when we moved in was cooking for about 50 minutes (no exaggeration) and was inedible. His most recent attempt actually looked like an omelette but he flipped it like a pancake so it got a bit screwed up. He said it was awesome but Kayleigh tried it and her face told us otherwise.
I have my exam soon. 11th June. That doesn’t seem soon but it really is considering how much i have to learn before it. And how little time I have to learn (the majority of it has to be practice in a lab). I SUCK at hand neutralisation. Although everyone does. I suck a frame descriptions. I suck at lens measures. My focimetry use is below average but better than everything else I do. My viva is going to go terribly. My technical vocabulary for use in my viva is lacking considerably. My facial measurements have been practiced on about 3 people. My frame measurements have been practiced on about 6 frames. I have only adjusted one plastics, one metal and zero rimless frames. And I can’t even remember what else is on my exam. surely that’s a bad sign. the majority of this is my shit lecturer’s fault. the rest is me not turning up or not doing work when i DO turn up. I’m shittingmyself.
I need to get round to buying a new suit to wear to my exam. I’m so scared. they’re so strict. I’m not allowed to shake the examiner’s hand. i have to always have about 20 things on me. we aren’t allowed to be smelly (not that i was planning to be) we have to sit up straight. i wont list everything coz i can’t be bothered but basically we are being tested on our personality for the entire day and our personality must be ‘public school student’. Not that we get marks for this but they’re more likely to be generous with marks if you have a ‘professional approach’ – roughly translated…be as stuck up as they are.
anyway i’m rambling. i have to go and try to view the other two rooms of next year’s house again in 35 mins. I should get ready.
