Trip to Southend

The last few days have been cool. I stayed at Jordan’s Wednesday night. We got fish and chips on the way back from the station and ate them in bed like we normally do. Also watched some House. We’re so married. It was so nice to get to lay in bed and chat to Jordan before we fell asleep…we always do that and end up staying up pretty late, fooling ourselves into thinking we’re not getting a REALLY late night because we’re under the covers and the lights are off so it’s practically sleeping. Then we got up far, far too early and had a quick shower and then Jord (like the little sweetheart he is) took me to Liverpool St so I could get the train to Southend to go and see my best mate from uni, Nicole.

So, I get to Southend and I get bored waiting for Nikki inside the station so I go to one of the doors so I can watch outside. Nikki comes in a different door and sits around where I first was for about 10 minutes. 2 trains come in from Liverpool St and she finally texts me going ‘well…where are you?’. I’ve been waiting for 40 minutes sinces she said she’ be about 10 minutes so I was just about to text her! lol, was pretty funny. We were about 10m away from each other for 10-15 mins.

we went and did a little bit of shopping. Got a new jumper, some black trews for the funeral, a few pieces of jewellery including a pair of earrings I am TOTALLY in love with. Get to Nicole’s house and I get to meet Aaron. Nik’s mum is a childminder and she’s looking after him. He is the most adorable little guy in the world. And apparently he liked me. Every 2 minutes he woul bring me something and grunt at me or try to talk hehe. Towards the end he was getting a little more tired and so he kept bringing his book over to me and pushing his little nappied bum against my chin so I would pick him up and sit him on my lap and go through his book with him. We mustve looked at all the animals on each page of that book about 30 times in 20 minutes. Bless him.

We go to a club called Talk that evening. I meet one of Nikki’s best mates Hannah. I actually get on really well with her. She wasn’t what I expected from Nik’s descriptions of her. She’s a lot more confident and audacious than I expected. She’s cool. LOTS of guys were trying it on with all of it. It got ridiculous in the end. I got kinda mad at one group of guys. They would not get the point of me saying “Yes, have a boyfriend…we ALL do”. Note to any guys who read this…if you like a girl who has told you that she has a boyfriend, that means ‘fuck off’. It does NOT mean wait until she has her back to you, move her hair across and lick her neck. I guess it was my fault for wearing my mini skirt that Jord calls a belt. Wore that black denim mini, black boots and a black jumper with blue tights, blue beaded jewellery and a blue bag that went across my body. I loved my outfit. Sounds hideous but it was cool.

The next day Nik’s mum was looking after Joe. He was a cutie too but the noise of a hoover REALLY annoys me. and he REALLY loves hoovers. So it was on pretty much all day. Me + noise of hoover + slight hangover + hardly any sleep = not good.

Eventually I leave Nik’s after us two moping about all day and trying to calm Joe down. Train takes ages to get to Liverpool St. I make friends with a little girl on this train. She spends 15 minutes pressing buttons on my phone and asking me what the numbers were. At one point she was looking at the photo of my grandad who just died which is my wallpaper and said
“who sat?”
“that’s my grandad”
“oh…your guh-an-pa?”
“yep!”
“guh-an-pa who?”
“grandpa Bob”
“guh-an-pa Bub”
and at this point she takes her index finger and kisses it. she then puts it on the picture on my phone and says
“let’s kiss guh-an-pa Bub!!”

bought a tear to my eye…

Anyway, stand in line 25 bloody mins to get my tube ticket and end up missing my train from Kings Cross by 1 minute. Not happy. Wait an hour for the next one that goes straight through to home. Because of the wind there’s a 50mph speed restriction all the way which mucks up all the trains. About half an hour away from my town we get stuck outside somewhere for 20 minutes and after that there’s a 20mph speed restriction. aaah!! So a journey that should be about 3.5 hours takes me just over 6. But it’s ok because I like travelling.

Final preparations for the funeral going on now…the forecast snow for the day of the funeral. Let’s hope they’re wrong like they usually are.

I should stop writing now.
