Tuesday’s Troubles
There are a few….
Our cat Sniffles hasn’t been feeling well for a while, now. I’m worried about him. He needs to see the Vet desperately bad but we won’t have the money to have him seen until February. I called several veterinary clinics in the area but they all said the same thing, basically, "bring the cat in and bring your wallet". The Vet we usually go to told me to apply for this credit card that they accept and then told me to go to the web site for more information. After reading all the info., which was pretty vague, I decided I’d call them to ask a few questions. All I got was a bunch of automated redirections that ultimately left me at a dead end and disconnection. I even tried the APL to see if they had anyone there to talk to and although they’re supposed to be open on Tuesdays after 11AM, I got another automated recording stating that they were closed. What the heck?? Aren’t there any businesses out there anymore that actually care about customer service??
Ooops, okay, I’m a Moron. It’s election day! No wonder I can’t talk to a real human!

Well, I’ve been on and off this computer all morning making phone call after phone call. I finally found a clinic who’ll take him for a low cost visit. I’m waiting to hear back from the owner of the facilities to see if he’ll agree to extend his generosity by also accepting low (very low) monthly payments until February. Please say a little prayer that God will help him feel exceptionally compassionate and benevolent towards us. — And that hubby will feel compliant (he worries all the time about money). Depending on how good these people are, I may switch to them for future vet visits.

My son’s school called. They’re at it again. Why they’d be calling today, a day off for all students and staff members (elections day), I don’t know. They’ll find out when they report to work tomorrow morning that I’ve decided to pull him out. I am SO done with them.
Getting all the paperwork together to get him enrolled in ECOT has been somewhat of a pain but it’s slowly coming along. What’s been holding me up is getting out to have all the MFE and IEP forms xerox copied. It’s going to cost me a small fortune in nickles as I don’t have any printer ink left in my scanner/printer. The MFE is 57 pages long! Wowzers! I need a copy of his birth certificate, too, and they cost $22.!! I’m hoping they’ll be able to obtain a copy from the DVS so I don’t have to try to find a way to come up with the added money.

Have you ever noticed that you always seem to need money the most when you just don’t have any? We could have a few thousand in the bank and only get the usual living expense bills in the mail, but, when there’s no more than $17. in the bank, that’s when you need to renew your license, get tags on your car, have an appliance break down that needs fixed or replaced, need an oil change, etc. Some days it just seems never-ending. Bah!
We’ll get through it. Albeit a little at a time, but I guess a little is better than not at all.

I’ve been doing real well with my glucose levels. There were only two days in the past two weeks where it seemed to be a little higher than it should be but it’s probably because I forgot my dose of Metformin in the morning. I’ve never had to take medicine on a regular basis before and getting used to remembering to do that has been difficult. I need one of those alarm timers that you can set to go off several times a day. The hardest part has been getting used to eating more often throughout the day. It just feels like all I’m doing all day long is eating. It’s good though. I find when I keep up with my meals during the day, I’m not as hungry by evening and that makes it a lot easier to keep my portion sizes down.
What hasn’t been troublesome is:
How I’ve been feeling. Hubby pointed out this morning that I seem to be getting around a lot more and he’s right. I still have a lot of discomfort in my legs from the veins which effects how long or how far I can go, but, I actually walked up to the drive-through yesterday which is about a half a block away! It felt incredible to be able to go that far without feeling like I was about to do a face-plant in the sidewalk! Coming home was a whole lot harder than getting there – it was definitely my limit, but, I learned from that walk that as the veins in my legs began to swell and feel worse, my gate changed, then my lower back and hip area started to hurt. Knowing that makes me all the more confident that once the surgery is done and I’ve fully healed, I’ll notice a much better than 30% improvement in my mobility and pain levels.
The most significant change since getting my glucose under control has been my level of energy. I think I only took one nap in the past five days and I’m not falling asleep on the couch the minute my butt hits the cushion. I’m very proud to announce that I have cleaned my whole kitchen without help and have fixed the last four dinner meals – good, healthy ones – by myself too! 🙂 The laundry will still depend on the girls until I’m able to get up and down the stairs better, though.
Well, I’ve bored you all enough for one day.
Until next time….Have a beautiful Tuesday! God Bless!
I hope it’s nothing serious with your cat, and certainly I pray that the good vet will be benevolent.

Is there not a county or state pet clinic in the area? They usually charge a nominal fee. Be well.

I feel bad giggling about “sniffles” the cat being sick while hoping at the same time the vet lets you guys do the payment plan. But seriously, I hope they accept your request. yay for extra energy!

YAY for getting around better! =oD That is always a nice thing, isn’t it? Let’s pray it continues to get better and better! I’ll also pray for Sniffles and for your family and hopefully you’ll hear something soon from owner of the clinic and it’ll be something POSITIVE! =oD RYN: I tried to access her diary but it’s friends only… not surprising. I just remember seeing her notes all over friends’ entries and they just hit me the wrong way. Maybe she doesn’t realize she’s doing it (though she probably does) but she just has a real arrogant way of saying things. WOW, you should feel special, girl! Apparently, she’s so into your life and your views that you got your own entry, LOL!!! Can we say, ‘Get a life, Mama Blue’?!! ((BIG HUGS)) Forget her, you’re the bomb-diggity!

RYN: Sadly, I was once in a place where I *HATED* Christianity. I said some pretty low stuff back then about God and ESPECIALLY about Catholics. And look at me now! God certainly proved who was in control on that one, didn’t He? 😉 Those who are always saying ugly things about religion/God/Christianity are usually ignorant on what it’s about or very insecure in their own beliefs, and that is really sad. Someone told me the Duggars are Baptist — I have a long and ugly history with Baptists (from personal experience, and because when my daughter was attending Christian school run by Baptists, the teacher informed her that Catholics are NOT Christians/we worship Mary/statues/etc.) but their religion should have NOTHING to do with it!

Oh I hope pussy gets looked at and treated. Would be very sad to hear that things could not be helped. It’s good to know your walking distances are improving. Once you get rid of those veins, you’ll definitely be flying. Can you just imagine it, “look out, speedy Gonzales at your door!” lol G~

I’m really glad to hear that you are getting your glucose under control. Also, I’m a big fan of your son. And yes, I notice that about money too. But somehow things always work out.

I hope your kitty is ok. We have used a reasonable vet for years. He’s been a godsend.
