An Eye on the Watch

You deserve to know
That you have done nothing to hurt me
My demons are my own
And have nothing to do with you

Don’t blame yourself
For how I feel
You never disappointed me
Not for a second…

Even if I scare the hell out of you
I understand why
You are an indecisive metronome
I follow your pace
And you aren’t sure if you want me to set my own
But it’s ok, we’ll be fine
Finding and keeping our own time

I feel bad for the speaker of the poem here. Since time moves at a constant pace, and the speaker is chasing after it they will never get ahead, will they? I don’t think anyone should chase anything whether it is time or a crush on someone, becuase if you are always chasing after something, you can’t get ahead to see what lays beyond.
