Like A Calling Card

You looked so upset
When you recognized me
And thought
I had forgotten who you are
Years ago, when I last saw you

I’ve never been any good at remembering names
But faces almost always stick
We carry our names and faces with us
Where ever we go
But we also leave them behind

I would not forget my first night of college life
the only one I spent in a dorm
conversations we had
And what we thought we knew

"You don’t remember me, do you?"
"Of course I remember you, Leighton."

i love running into those we’ve had a special connection with but never expanded upon. its such a beautiful moment and a little nod from the universe to maybe build the relationship you should’ve then. if we lived close, i would have you over, and we would smoke a bowl and share some wine and laugh a lot. because i think you’re f*cking great.

“We carry our names and faces with us, Where ever we go, But we also leave them behind..” Those lines are so very true. Do you ever wonder, what you leave behind? What people will remember most about you when you are no longer a part of their lives? That us what this makes me think of. For instance If I never returned to OD, what would people remember? I know what I would remember of you…
