Hundred-Sixty-Six: Just Another Day
.Tanya Faith.Ugh
Tanya entered the potions room and flipped her hair out of her cloak. She hated when it managed to get trapped in there. She laid her wand on her desk and placed her hands in her lap. With Merlin already there, she gave him a smile as he noticed and came over.
“So I take it you already have a partner,” he observed.
“Yes of course, Kaden. We had detention many times,” She laughed. “He’s an alright guy. I enjoy his company.”
“Really?” Merlin asked looking away.
“Sure! We didn’t get along at first but you see it’s kind of a funny story…” Tanya was just about to spill her memories but could see that Merlin was getting uneasy. “Well that was so long ago anyway – it doesn’t matter!” She brushed his arm with her hand.
“Hey I wanted to ask you…is it true that there has been deaths here? I mean…” Merlin scratched his head as Tanya appeared uneasy.
“Well I mean….yeah,” She said keeping it short and simple.
“You’re in my seat, Anderson!” Kaden said as he slammed his books on the table.
“Oh sorry,” Merlin said as he shrugged at Tanya and went back over to his own desk.
Bending over to his ear, Tanya whispered “You didn’t have to be so forceful about it. He would’ve gotten up before class started…”
“Do you want to go out with me tonight? My treat,” Kaden retorted.
“I’l think about it,” She said as she put her tongue to the front of her teeth.
Merlin looked over before quickly turning away. Inside of his head, he questioned his purpose. He knew he didn’t fit in with Tanya or Kaden or even most of the wizards here, but he had orders and must follow through.
“I’m sorry I was aggressive!” Kaden said torward Merlin.
“Sure thing,” Merlin smiled back.
