Hundred-Forty-Four: Visions In My Head

Entry For NOJOMO #23

.Tanya Faith.Strange Things

Told from Harry’s POV

I laid restless in my bed. My scar was burning tonight. I was trying not to let him inside my mind. I don’t need to see the vision he portrays in me. When that happens, it means he wants me to see it, and I can’t be vulnerable about that.

I rolled over on my side to try and make the pain go away but I couldn’t. My body was being doused with sweat. The pain was intensifying. I let out a winch in pain.

“You alright, Harry?” Ron ran over to me and put his hand on my arm.

My body began to quiver with pain. I could no longer think for myself. Voldermort was entering my mind.

The house was so big. All the faces were blurred but here were two girls sitting here fumbling through boxes. An older woman was hovering over them, criticizing them with each step. She had a man with her in a large cloak. He had a hood over his face and his hand wrapped around her waist.

My body was shaking uncontrollably. I couldn’t stand it anymore. I was trying to block him out but with each try, he was only growing stronger.

One of the younger girls put her hand on the other ones belly and made small talk. The hooded figure smiled intently and pointed his finger toward the door.

He was talking in my head now. I let out another cry in pain.

”Bring the baby to me, or the one you love most will suffer for it.” Voldermort was trying to tell me something. “Bring the baby to me or everyone in the house will die!”

Suddenly the pain stopped.

“You bloody alright, Harry?” Ron asked.

My mind suddenly began to focus on the blurred images. “She’s in trouble, Ron. I have to go to the Delacour Villa!” I exclaimed.

“Harry….she can take care of herself. She’s not your bloody problem anymore, bloke.” Ron lay back down in his bed. “How do you know she’s in trouble?”

“I saw him…Voldermort….he wants Draco’s baby.” I began to piece the clues together. “He wants the baby, Ron and he will destroy the whole family as they try to protect Alana. I have to go there.” I jumped out of bed and got out of my pajamas. “It’s too risky to go at this alone. I need someone to go with me who loves her as much as I do…someone will do anything to protect her…even die.”

Told from Ordinary POV

Alana and I finally had grandmother’s house cleaned and everything put away that needed to be. It looked like the house we grew up in again except it was not the right smell. There weren’t any fresh sugar cookies baking in the oven.

I put my hand on Alana’s belly. “Draco sure was something,” I said. “He was so misunderstood. Everyone thought he was a bully or a horrible person but he was a product of a dysfunctional home. I wish they got to see that side of him….the side we knew.”

Alana began to get uncomfortable. “You and I knew two different sides, sis. I knew the side you were talking about too but you tried to change him and I resent that. He was fine the way he was.” She began to rub her belly. “But it’s okay. I forgive you.” I placed my hand on hers as we both sat in the indulgence of things.

Mother came through the door. “Girls! I want you to meet someone!” She gushed. “Now I know it’s a little soon but he’s been dying to meet you!” She stepped to the side and revealed a man with a hooded cloak. “Girls this is the love of my life, Darky!”

The man reached out his hand for us to shake. We both stood in hesitancy. “Your mother has told us so many great things about you.” He seemed so fake. “She didn’t quite introduce us properly. My name is Darkous…not Darky.”

Suddenly my mind began to hear Kaden’s voice in my head.

“We’re not that kinda traditional vampire.” Kaden cleared his throat. “Our story begins when we were born. Our parents were given a choice: to make us vampires of kill our families. We had to carry on the vampire tradition. A man named Darkous wanted a new generation, and sadly, we were it.

I tried not to show I knew he was. The man smiled. “You’re a vampire,” I pointed out. Alana and I exchanged looks. I telepathically explained the situation to her as I blocked out mother.

“Yes. We are a dying breed, just like you.” He said as he gave me an odd look. Alana and I kept our smiles on our faces.

“What do you do for a living?” She asked, trying to keep the small talk alive.

“I am a trainer to the vampire clan. I help them to adapt their whole powers. I haven’t had any students for centuries. My last students ran away and branched out on their own. It’s sad that they’ll never know or feast. They’re almost a disappointment for vampires.”

I looked at him and wanted to argue but couldn’t.

“Mother, how long have you been with him?”

“It’s been almost a decade. You girls never call or write….”

I could feel my heart beating faster in my chest.

Sounds like those family situations are getting even better. Maybe he won’t make you hate the whole clan. Seems like a real shady guy, that’s probably why they left; because they are actually ok people.
