She Has A Heart?

“You’re a really talented singer…you know that?” Zeke suddenly said. “All of the men were just staring at you and swaying back and forth. I thought I was going to have to say something.”

“Aww, Zeke. I love you. Honestly, it’s part of my veela power. We’re like Sirens. It never worked on you though, or Colin.” I said. “So hearing you telling me I have a pretty voice means a lot because you’re not just saying that because you’re seduced.”

“I’d never lie to you. If I didn’t think you could sing, I would tell you and save you the embarrassment. He replied seriously but then we both burst out laughing.

“I now know why the Sorting Hat put you into Ravenclaw…..you’re always studying and want to learn. You’re very smart, Zeke. You’re probably the smartest person I know besides Hermione.” I looked into his eyes. “I really care about you, ya know.

Zeke and I walked to the boy’s tournament and took our seats. Together, we sat in the Ravenclaw section and cheered Harry on. Eventually, I would tell him what happened while he was gone but not now. It’s not appropriate.

Told From Kaden’s POV

Today was my first day back to class since my arrival. I had Potions and walked in expecting to get my previous partner back, but he didn’t pair me up with Tanya. He said that we caused too much trouble together (which may be true.) I don’t know though. She and I just…match. She has nothing in common with my brother. He’s dull and dry. I can give her a little spice. If I didn’t turn her away back at the Vampire Camp, she’d be mine right now anyways. Does Zeke realize that? She is mine.

“I’m sorry you didn’t get your old partner back. She seems…nice.” The girl said trying to make small talk.

“Okay. There are a few things you should know about me. I am not here to make friends. I walk alone. Eat alone. Sit alone. Think alone. I am here in class to leave as soon as it’s over.” I shuffled through my papers and didn’t even look up at her.

“Oh….” She replied so pitifully.

“Don’t be like that. It’s nothing personal. I just don’t make friends easy but thanks. While I was gone, Snape paired her up with my brother.” I pointed in the direction of Tanya. “I’ll get her back though. I’m going to see if Zeke will switch me. Don’t know why he would because that’s his girlfriend but he may. I can be convincing.” I kept telling my story but then realized why the name Diggory sounded familiar. “Didn’t you lose your brother?” I nodded. “I’m sorry.”

With that, she stormed away. I felt horrible about it. I didn’t know she was having such a hard time dealing with it. I wanted to apologize to her but I know if I was to leave class, I’d get detention again and I don’t like getting detention without Tanya.

Told From Ordinary POV

all of the men did well today. I was proud of all of them and was glad anyone didn’t get hurt. I was happy that Harry won, even if he tied with Piastol. They both were great competes. I really need to be nicer to Piastol, and I probably will be whenever he begins to treat Harry nicer.

My friends and I gathered around for a small lunch. Colin and Jazmine were in their own little world. Alana and Draco were as usual arguing while Zeke and I sat talking to Kaden.

“I’m sorry you don’t get your partner in crime back!” I laughed at Kaden making small talk. “I think you’ll make it without me though.”

“I feel horrible about making Kayleen sad though. I should apologize to her.” Kaden replied.

“She’s been quiet and distant ever since. She used to be okay. I haven’t really talked to her in about a year.” I said, pushing my food around on my plate. “She usually sits by herself at the Hufflepuff table if you want to talk to her.” I moved my eyes around until I located her. “See? She’s right there.” I pointed.

“Oh thanks, Tanya.” Kaden rubbed his eyes. “I just had an amazing idea. What if I bring her over here to sit with us?” Kaden seemed excited.

I looked at Colin as he and I both shook our head in a “no” motion. “Oh Kaden come on…we’re eating….and she’s so quiet and awkward.” I complained. “And besides…”

“Come on Tanya. Have a heart. She’s missing Justin. I remember whenever you lost Zeke how upset you were….but you were okay when he came back. Tanya, Justin is never coming on. Imagine if my brother never…”

I interrupted him. “Okay…you can bring her over here but only for today, okay? This cannot be a habit.” I gave in. “Oh wow. I’m growing too soft.” I giggled as I put my head on Zeke.

I watched as Kaden walked over the Kayleen and softly tap her on the shoulder. After a short exchanged conversation, Kayleen picked up her food and came over to the table. I guess we needed a Hufflepuff anyways to sit with us. We had Gryffindors (Colin and Jazmine) Ravenclaws (Kaden, Zeke, and I), Slytherin (Alana and Draco) and now a Hufflepuff (Kayleen.) Our little section would be filled with maroon, blue, green, and yellow colors. It actually looked rather nice.

Seeing Kayleen reminded me of her brother, though. They shared some features. Back when Harry and I were in the honeymoon of our romance, Cedric would often tag along with us. I got to know him and always thought he was nice. I once tried to seduce him but he thought I was like Medusa or something and plugged his eyes and ears. I think he always knew somehow I was a veela. Of course it isn’t a secret that most Delacour’s are.

“Hey Kayleen,” I said making small talk. She was so shy. She put her food down on the table and her head down. “I haven’t talked to you

much. Have you always been in Potions?”

“Yes. My partner was…Justin Fletchy but he passed away this year.” She replied, very quietly. I felt bad….that was my fault.

“Don’t worry. Kaden will take care of ya.” I winked at him. Ever since I wrote that essay, I realized how I haven’t been too compassionate with people. I’ve been so mad at myself for my regrets and mistakes. I want to change but I’m not sure how. “Won’t you, Kaden?”

Kaden and Zeke both looked at me like I was a stranger as Kaden nodded. “Sure will.”
