Last day in Florida…
Nine days has come and gone rather quickly. I will be back on a plane in less than 12 hours to head back to Buffalo and then back across the border to my very cold home in Canada. I heard today temps were as low as -27 today.
I’ve been in the sun for the last week, I’ve gotten a killer tan.
The pictures above are from Cocoa Beach, which my Dad and I hit on Xmas Eve. The place was not that busy, so it was nice that day on the beach and we had a chance to lay out and just relax for a few hours. We hit a local restaurant and I had some killer fish tacos for lunch before stepping knee high into the Atlantic Ocean.
On Xmas, my Dad’s newest neighbors/friends invited us for a potluck dinner and we were stuffed so much we needed a nap afterwards.
I also had a chance to check out Legoland, which was rather amusing.
I had a chance to check out this place for free, and I could clearly tell this place is more suitable for kids. I think if I bring my boys here, they’d have a blast. So consider this a reckon mission to check the place out.
Overall, this has been a great trip. Sure, I had a lot of fun… but it was fun having some one on one time with Dad. I can’t remember the last time we did that for longer than a day. I really think he enjoyed it as well. This was Dad’s 2nd Xmas without Mom, and I was happy to be here to keep him company. I managed to pick up some cool stuff for my boys at the malls during some great boxing day sales.
Every morning when the sun came up, my Dad and I walked the dogs for four laps around the neighborhood. That’s close to two miles each morning, and then we hang out by the pool. It was a nice routine, and believe it or not I actually lost weight over the holidays! Despite all the goodies I had, all that walking did the trip. I’ll have to do more when the weather gets better back home. Lose some more during 2018.
So that brings my holiday trip to a close. When I next post, I will be back in my cold and very frosty surroundings of the great white north. Until then, everyone take care and I’ll be back soon.
