Random photo – messy field of oats – gray sky

That’s another photo that just came up.  I can’t see them to choose what to post so it’s like Russian roulette.  One out of six is a hit.  If that.

I was going to write about being fat today.  It just seemed like the thing to do.  I bought Roxanne Gay’s book Hunger but I haven’t opened it.  Not sure if it will help me accept being fat or inspire me to lose some weight.  To be honest I doubt if it will do either.  I’m kinda stuck at my highest weight ever.  Of course I’m stuck at my highest age ever too.  My hair has never been this gray/white to be honest before either.

Whose fault are all those things?  Well aside from the age – which I could lie about and you’d never know the difference, they’re all my fault.  I could lie about my weight too.  I could dye my hair.  I could pretend to be happy.  I could say I’m walking five miles a day.  I could say I have a high IQ AND a lot of friends.  I could say my pants fit loosely.  I could say I’m talented and pretty.

Sure I could say all those things.  But that wouldn’t make them true.  Sadly.

And then there’s always – it could be worse.  I could be fatter, older, grayer/whiter, dumber, uglier, less in shape than I am, lesser organized than I am,  poorer, more depressed……   Well sure I could be.  And no doubt I will be.

Except.

Except.

It’s not that bad.

It could be worse.

Happy Tuesday everyone.

This so sounds like me right now. Most importantly I need to lose weight. I like my gray hair it brings me senior citizen discounts. 👌

December 20, 2017

I never get senior citizen discounts! Who gives them? I go to the wrong places, I guess.

Local discount store that’s not walmart gives seniors a discount on first Wednesday of the month (I think) but I never remember and I’d feel odd going then when I don’t go there much otherwise.

My dad worked with the public for a while and said it was tricky. Some people were offended if you offered them SC discounts and others were upset if you didn’t.

@woman in the moon: I want to give you a giant hug right now. It’s NOT because I feel sorry or badly for you, but, I adore your transparency to share. I would like to know you in person!! :*)

What a beautifully honest entry.  You’re right.  When we start feeling depressed about the things we find wrong with ourselves,   it could be worse.  I get senior citizens discounts too.  I’m not 60 yet.  I’ll be 59 on December 28.  The new senior age is 55 now I guess.   Wishing you a good day today.  Sandra 😀

Just curious. What kind of places give SC discounts? I never get any except from Amtrak. I ask them.

There will always be someone better off than you, and someone worse off than you. This is the one thing I’ve learned. It’s helped me to accept where I’m at.
