He weighed in at exactly 30.00lbs and was 35 inches tall, they did his blood pressure and temp and head circumference (20in)

Since he turned two, he’s been to the doctor three times (asthma related issues, and this appointment) and our pediatrician’s office starts having kids stand on the big kid scale for height/weight and they start doing a blood pressure check at each appointment when your kid turns 2. So Milo has had his blood pressure taken 2x before today, and as soon as we got into the little nook with the chair and the machine, he climbed up in my lap, rolled up his sleeve and stuck his arm straight out to the side towards the machine. Without being prompted! It was SO funny! He clearly knows the drill, I laughed, and the nurse was pretty impressed. lol

Once the nurse was done with us and had recorded all our answers and done the questionaires and what not, Milo told me he needed to go potty. "Milo go potty!" he said. He was wearing his undies and an exam gown, and we trekked down the hall to the bathroom, when we got there I realized that I had forgotten to bring his little fold up kid-size potty seat that fits over regular sized toilets. I put him up on the big potty, but he was scared and shakey and clearly thought he would fall in. He said "No, no, no! That’s Mommy’s potty! Nooooo!" so I tried letting him stand and holding him up, all kinds of things, because I KNEW he needed to go, but he wouldn’t. He was too scared of the big potty. This made me really nervous, because I knew he hadn’t gone in a while and needed to. But we went back to the exam room, the Dr came in, he did his exam, Milo was very cooperative and sweet, talking to the Dr a lot and being adorable. Then after he got down off the table and was looking at some books while Dr. Foote and I were talking, Milo peed on the floor. >:| Dangit.

We had JUST been talking about how good he’s been doing with potty training, too. He wears undies full time (just a diaper for bed time at night) and GENERALLY he has ONE accident at daycare every day, and USUALLY it’s when he needs to poop. I think that they aren’t watching him closely enough at daycare, because he has very obvious cues when he needs to go, and if you catch it and ask him, he will say yes and go. Sometimes he doesn’t want to sit and try to poop if it doesn’t happen right away, he decides he’s done. So at daycare, he’s having a hard time figuring out the timing with that one. At HOME, he doesn’t have any problems, and he will use his potty all by himself without being told or asked or reminded, even to go poop. I’m not sure what his deal is at daycare entirely, but it’s driving me crazy. Them too, I’m sure :S EWwww! lol

It’s so funny how different Kasin and Milo are. Kasin was a far less talkative toddler, at age 2 I think I remember writing down all the words he said and getting a list of about 50. He did use 2 word sentences, such as "momma, up!" and "cheese, please" and such, but he didn’t speak nearly as much or as well as Milo. Milo has full conversations. Milo knows how old he is, and he’ll answer questions when asked. It’s very impressive, he blows me away. He can copy an "m" and an "o" if you show him one and ask him to draw it, he will make his own. He recognizes and names most of his letters, and says their sounds, he can count to five and sometimes to ten, but he likes to go to 5 and then skip ahead to 8. lol

He’s such a giant PITA, though. He’s mean and he hits, he yells and shrieks, he has screaming fits all the time, he HATES to be told "no" and he doesn’t listen for sh!t. Today at the doctor, he wanted to see Milo’s gait and so I told him to go over to the door and knock on it (just to get him to go across the room) and he did, he ran over and knocked on the door, and then Dr. Foote asked him to sit down and get back up, and so I told him to come here and sit down right here on the floor, indicating a spot, and he was like "NO!" and crossed his arms across his chest. *siiigh* I finally convinced him, and then he wouldn’t get back up. lol.. turkey. I was just rolling my eyes, because this is SO Milo, he just does NOT care to be told what to do, and he refuses to things he doesn’t want to. He doesn’t care what your opinion on the matter is, he just won’t do things that he doesn’t want to do.

Dr. Foote asked me if we are firm and consistent, and I assured him that we are and that they are at daycare, too. He then smirked and nodded and said "There’s nothing I can do for that, sorry." lol He was impressed that I’ve managed to keep him from seriously injuring himself, in that he’s never had a serious injury or emergency room visit or hospitalization of any kind.

Have I ever mentioned that I feel pretty gypped that he still has exzema and asthma even though I breastfed him for a whole year?? Wasn’t the supposed to boost his immune system SO MUCH and give him SUCH a big advantage over bottle-fed babies? What a bunch of baloney, Kasin was formula fed from about 2 weeks on, and he was not nearly as sickly as Milo. Milo has always been a bit sickly, with airway disorders since infancy and horrible skin problems… It seriously pisses me off.

Oh well. I would have done it even if there weren’t supposed to be such amazing health benefits. It was still a great experience. You know, once it stopped being horribly painful.  <3
