Mulch and Math and Motrin

Ross is mowing the lawn, but he didn’t rake the leaves, first… and the yard is covered in rows of mulch.

I just got Milo to sleep, after rocking him for a half an hour. He’s sick and fevery, and has been in good spirits, despite that. He went to the store with Ross for milk and bread, and came home with his little head resting on Ross’ shoulder, shoed feet dangling. I had to remake his bed so Ross could put him down for a nap, since Milo fell asleep at 7:20pm last night in just a tshirt and a diaper (he always takes his diaper off if he’s not wearing pants) and we had to wash all of his bedding this morning. He popped back up after about 30 minutes and started calling for us. "Momma? Daddy? Daddy? Daddy? DAD-DDEEEEE? Momma?!" So I went and picked him up, and he had turned bright red and felt like hot coals again. Dosed him up with some kiddy Motrin, and then rocked him in the recliner a while. He snuggled and fidgeted and cooed at me, "augh, uh bah? dat it daddy. bubba? grandma? meow. mooo. talka no, bah. Hmmm." and then finally closed his eyes while I patted his back and rocked him. Tucked him back into his crib with my pillowpet and his cow blankie, freshly washed! Lucky baby 🙂

I don’t know what’s wrong with him.. he had a fever on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and then was fine all week until yesterday. 102.2 out of nowhere. He’d been to the doctor on Monday and they looked in his ears and said they looked great, so hopefully it’s not that again… I would really hate to put tubes in his ears, but Im sort of at the end of my rope with the ear infections, now. Poor baby.

I passed my math class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a 77.2% 🙂 I have NEVER passed a math class the first time I took it, before. EVER! NEVER! Till now, cuz, you know, first college level math class and all, I just whipped it outta my back pocket and stuck a C+ on it. I’m cool like that. I got an 86% on the final, another first for me. lol I had bombed a couple of the chapter tests (44 and 24%, respectively.) but I did so well on all the rest that it turned out okay. Thank GOD. And the teacher clearly didn’t enter grades AS he graded the papers, because he gave my credit for two homework assignments I didn’t do. You either get a 20/20, or a 0 if you don’t do it or turn it in, and I emailed him about both assignments, saying that I didn’t understand the concepts at all and I was going to skip the assignments… somehow he gave me full credit for both of them, anyways. *shrug* works for me.

In any event, I passed! HURRAY! I got the amount due paid for my summer class, and I registered for this semester, which started on Thursday. I’m only taking three classes, which is pretty laid back… a Math For Teachers course, which sounds like it’ll be a bit trying, and ASL, and a recreation class, lap swimming. I’m really looking forward to that one, and I’m bummed that a.) we didn’t actually swim on the first day, b.) there’s assigned "work outs" and readings from a text book, and c.) the pool is going to be closed all of this next week due to electrical maintenance. 🙁

Anyhow, the first full week doesn’t really start until NEXT week (not this upcoming one) – I’ll have math this week, and my frist day of ASL on Wed night, though. I’m sort of anxious about that class, because it’s at a campus down town I’m not very familiar with, and I don’t really have much ASL background, so I don’t know how I’m going to do. :S

UGH, poor Milo.. ross mowing the lawn and Julie vacuuming downstairs, and Kasin shouting and jumping to avoid the vac, poor baby can’t get a nap at all. He’s whimpering in his crib right now, and yawning. UGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHh.

Aside from waking Milo up from his naps MOST DAYS, Julie has been fine to have around.. she’s helped out a lot in the kitchen, working on dishes and doing laundry when she’s cooking, or tidying up after dinner when the rest of us are already in chill-zone, although we would generally come back and put everything away ourselves, she seems to be on a roll after dinner and just keeps going with that kind of thing. Not every night, but it’s been nice to have the help.. Kasin camps out in the basement with her on the weekends, sleeping on the couch and watching cartoons in the mornings while she gets ready for work.

Me and Ross and the kids went on a walk at Creamer’s Field yesterday, which was awesome 🙂 It’s definitely Fall, now… not looking forward to the snow fall, which will inevitably be in the next month or so. *SIGH!*

I need to order Halloween costumes for the kids.. Kasin wants to be a ninja, and Milo is going to be an ewok. I’m only slightly concerned that he won’t want to wear the hood part of the costume.. usually he likes hoods, but just watch, he’ll hate it… and then it will look silly without it and everyone will think he’s a bear. I’m planning to just go to some of the apartment buildings in town and ToT indoors, because going to door to door is just too freaking cold in this state.

I cant wait to move.

I’m so proud of you for passing your math class!!! Hope Milo feels better soon, poor little guy. 🙁 I also need to work on my kids’ Halloween costumes, but they never decide what they want to be until like October 25, and its usually something ridiculously complicated. Freakin’ kids.

poor sick bub. hopefully the fever goes away soon, and no other symptoms come up!

Congrats on passing! I know how hard it has been for you, so way to go! Ashley
