Big Kid Things.

Kasin has decided that Cars (the movie, mostly) is for babies, and that he no longer likes the movie, the books, the bedding, the figurines, or anything else that has to do with it. This has actually been about since the end of Kindergarten that he’s been saying this, but I just recently decided to let him re-do his bedroom to accommodate his new interests. However, I was feeling a little hindered by cost, and the fact that he’s at an age now where his interests change every ten seconds. Originally, I tried to talk him into either Spongebob or a blue/white tie dye comforter and then he could pick character sheets in several themes and the over all effect would change whenever we changed the sheets! He didn’t buy it, though. He had been saying last year that he wanted a Mario bedroom, but I didn’t think that interest would really last.. he had already moved onto Sonic instead by this year. He’s been digging Spongebob since I started letting him watch it when he was 5, and that seems to be something that even Jr and Sr High school kids like, so I had hopes that it would be the favorite choice and then we wouldnt have to redo it again any time soon.

HOWEVER, he broke me down and picked his own favorite thing.. I’m a little bit bummed about it because I’m not sure how long it will last as his current fave, but we did discuss that he will be stuck with this until he’s at least 10, probably. He had the Cars bedding since he was 2, and he’s, yanno, 7 now. He also wants to get rid of his AWESOME RACE CAR BED and get bunk beds. Ugh, money.

you can see the bunk beds he wants here

This is the new bedding he picked out:

It’s Ninjago lego themed. There’s a matching throw blanket, light switch cover, and a few posters that go with it. And an alarm clock that looks like a giant lego figure of the red ninja.
I’m hoping that they carry the bunk beds at our local WalMart, they won’t ship site to store for Fairbanks/Alaska. If not, I may end up going to Sam’s Club on the regular and waiting for them to carry some.. they’re SO expensive.. the ones at WalMart only run 200-300$, rather than 500-900$ for realllllly nice ones.
There’s more to say, but Milo is clammoring to go on the swings, so I’ll be back some day. lol
