Birthday help? (edit)

Noah’s 41st birthday is coming up, and I feel like I need to figure out something nice to do for him. His birthday is…problematic (which I wrote a bit about last year, so I’ll just link to that rather than writing it out again). And on top of all that stuff, last year on his birthday was when he relapsed, and it was a whole big mess.

AND his birthday this year was supposed to be our wedding date, but that’s not happening. He says he’s ok about it, but I know he’s pretty disappointed, because he doesn’t really understand why I want to wait, and I think he was hoping that turning that day into the anniversary of something good might kind of change it a bit or something.

Anyway, I feel like I should probably try to do something really nice but have no idea what. Noah is especially good at planning big, special romantic dates and gifts and things, and I’m terrible at it.

So…help me! 🙂 Any ideas of what I can do that would make up for the fact that we’re not getting married that day? Or at least just make his birthday not completely suck for once.

Since it’s been suggested a few times, no I’m not going to marry him for his birthday. 🙂 I’m sure he’d love it, but I need to get married because it feels right, not because I want him to have a good day! And I can’t go forward with wedding-related stuff when I’m still very much in love with another man and totally unsure what I’m going to do about that.
