Vows

I accidentally snooped. It really was accidental. Noah called me from work and needed me to get something for him off his home computer. And right near the thing I had to get for him was a folder labeled "vows." I’m not sure how I would be able to resist looking at that. It was close enough to where he told me to look, that I wonder if he wanted me to find it.

Anyway, it was a folder with FOURTEEN different versions of wedding vows that he’s been writing. I looked at the dates on the files, and one of them was from before we even got engaged. And a couple of them were updated yesterday, so even though we no longer have a wedding date set, he’s apparently still working on writing vows.

I haven’t even thought about trying to write vows.

All 14 versions are incredibly sweet, and beautiful. They all (among other things) have something about how he promises to be my family and love me unconditionally, because I’ve never really had either of those things (but worded better than that, obviously). The ones that have been updated since we did away with the wedding date all mention promising to be patient with me. Basically, if I look at the dates, and what things he’s added, it seems like every time I’ve told him something that upset me, or that I was worried about, and every time he did something wrong, he’s immediately gone and revised his vows. Like he’s trying to learn exactly what kind of husband I’d want him to be.

He loves me so much, and I don’t deserve it at all.
