Starved of affection

It’s a humourous yet dangerous situation to be in
Starved of affection
At times your hormones build to a level where you think you’d take almost anything
Any touch
Any feel of lips against skin
Confide in any ear that would listen whether they would understand and respect or not
Holding it all back
Guarding the heart is a difficult task
Being wary of the illusion of falling in love
Being able to distinguish the difference between love and infatuation
Intimacy is a vital food for nourishment
Being starved of it for too long causes the strongest of hungers
A hunger that can lead to desperation
Desperation that can lead to earnestness or dire consequences
Everything a balancing act
Life and work and love and health
Friendship and discourse and time alone
No wonder the tiniest shape of it
The smallest light of possibility
The faintest scent of affection trailing in the breeze
Is enough to cause distraction absolute
