FIrst Hospital Admission

 We have been admitted to the hospital, but if you are on faebook you know it is not for me.

Sabastian has been sick all week. It had come to a head tonight, and he is dehydrated enough to warrant an IV. 

He has the rotovirus, and is too sick to even cry. It is heartbreaking…. 

He went from a little sick to very sick in a few hours today… It is awful.

We are finally settled into the peds unit for the night. Luckily I had my baby bag in the car so I have a change of clothes, medicine, power cords, the works with me. 

I am not going to lie. I am hurting tonight. The baby is low, all his movements hurt, and I am contracting enough to be noticed. However, I am trying to ignore it because Sabastian needs me more right now… 

He is finally sleeping in his little cage. It breaks my heart to see my normally vibrant little boy so so sick.

 

Part of me wants to feel guilty about him getting so sick so fast. The other part of me knows kids get sick, and with a nasty virus in a little body sometimes you need help. This is why we have ivs and hospitals. Plus we have insurance and I am grateful for it. 

I am worried about what he might eat here…. Of course, lets get him eating first right? I want him to stay until he is eating and drinking on his own again. He has already lost 3 pounds.
