 How do you sum up the first year of a child’s life? Someone who has brought you more joy, and more frustration and tears than you could ever imagine. 

How does a mother put into words the love she has for her child? The hopes and joys she has when she looks into their sweet baby face? 

I never knew I needed a son. I didn’t want a little boy, but a boy came, and you know what? I am in love with him. He has been good for our family, love only grows with the family, and love him we do. He has been great for Travis he is his pride and joy, and great for Samara she has become a fantastic big sister, and good for me as he has taught me patience. 

This time around I knew to savor him more, I knew to sniff the top of his head more often. I knew to kiss his sweet little cheeks, and pinch his cute little butt. I knew to hold him while he was sleeping and just be in silence with him. I knew to stay home more, and go out less. 

So now he is a year old. He is a wonderful ball of enengry, A challange, a delight a frustration. 

He love music, dancing, Elmo, grape juice, the smell of coffee, eating anything, following his sister, Handy Manny, snuggling at night, and his Aunt B. 

The only thing I know is he is still my baby boy. I love him, and there is nothing better than waking up and seeing his sweet smiling face every morning.
